Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with these detectors? Good points/bad points?

I picked one up last week, got a good deal on it through RadarDirect, plugged it all in and was a bit surprised I couldn't turn K band off. Seems the trick is to turn off SWS as well.

Only used it for about 100ks, got one good detection, probably 300-odd meters in a built up area around two blind corners (I'm guessing - was in Kelburn, stopped just before St Michaels cres heading up hill, got beeps then a rozzer came into view (with lights on) about 20 seconds later). Was quite impressed.

If you're a Wellington type and have one of these (or any other detector), do you find it falses laser coming south out of the Terrace Tunnel? About 80m from the end. Happened twice, wondered if it's a common occurance?

I have a BEL RX65 and it gives false LAZER alarm at the tunnel as you describe.

It can also go off if it's looking into the sun.

I usually turn of the laser detection all together as I don't see the point using it.

I'm quite impressed with the detection range I get from them.
