kdx200 fork re-valve ??

Hi,
Can anyone recommend someone to re-valve my front forks,and what i should expect to pay for the work?(and maybe if it will make a huge differance or not)
Got an 04 kdx200 that i have had from new,and i still really like it,i've put in .38kg racetech front springs and a 4.8kg spring at the rear,(im quite light at 74kgs).But get smacked by tree roots/rocks etc when going at speed,and the front end dosnt like the bigger hits that come along all that much.I'm ok with the rear end.I'd say that im a "expirenced novice" if im honest about my riding.Of course,if i could justify the $12 grand or so to myself i'd look to a KTM200,but i really like my kdx.

Will it make a huge difference?? It did on my Cr250 Greg did! Very plush! A&R has just had his CRX250 done and he said the same to me last GNCC.

Secondly you don't need to spend 12k to get a good Ktm200 but if you like the KDX they're pretty good in good hands.

i have had a KDX with a re spring and revalve and you would be amazed how good you can make them, Patterson O'Conner in Rotorua did mine and he is excellent and has a very good reputation, but Danger also seems to get good reviews so i'm sure he could sort you out.

Another rep for Danger, he definitely knows his stuff with the bonus of being real handy to you.
The KDX200 with suspension sorted and a good pipe is still a damn good weapon! :)

Nope... it has quite an imbalance in front & rear spring rates stock. Don't believe what's written on the brochure :)
They are too soft in the front and too hard in the rear if I recall correctly (it's been a while since I had one) from memory the rear spring wasn't too far off but the front were well soft.

Hi r.2stroke and welcome to Kiwi Biker.
As others have said the front end is dangerously soft on these bikes (I would have used .40 or .42 springs for your weight) but these really need a Gold Valve to get any real performance out of them. My brain is frazelled right now from everything I've had to deal with this week and I've still got work to finish for this week but give me a call on Monday on 09 832 0153 between 9-5.30 and I'll gladly discuss what needs to be done to these.
