A biker is to ride through 38 countries in 31 days for charity after his aunt died from cancer.

Craig Martin will begin his journey in Aberdeen and then through every capital city in mainland Europe. The solo journey will take him a minimum of 14,800 miles.

He is raising money for various cancer charities as well as Gloucester Royal Maternity Unit where his aunt, Trish Tansley, worked. Mr Martin said: "My auntie was a wonderful lady who devoted her life to bringing people into the world as a midwife. When she passed away I wanted to do something to honour her memory and raise as much money as I could."

He will begin his journey across the continent on August 31. Anyone who would like to sponsor Mr Martin or pay for their company's logo to be displayed on one of the motor cycles should call him on 07970 292876 or e-mail him at craig.martin@akeravaerner.com.
