Ahhhhhhhhh you're killing me. Got a wedding on (not mine).

Weekend after I'm missing the last MotoTT trackday because my family decided to have xmas early in Chch.

My friends and family have me booked every weekend until almost xmas and I'm starting to go  from not riding properly.

Up for something 21st of Dec or maybe I could take a day off work and do a mid-week run?

I did it with 2 mates on a Monday, left Westgate around 11am I think. I do think we went to Whangerai and then motorway straight south, and I was home east auckland around 8pm.

Also depends how frequently you stop, and for how long.

(or not )

I reckon guys have a genetic predisposition to non-planning. It's just more natural to just make it up as you go for us...

Women have a much greater need to plan. They have to get the eggs, turn on the pan, fry them just how we like them..... :chase:

it may be difficult to understand, but often we are busy people with heavy demands on our time, that require prioritising... I know, its hard to understand with ya being a woman and everything... lets just say things come up that we have to sort out

Alright people, I, too, have decided I want to organise a ride on Saturday. It's in the same general direction -- Cape Reinga. Just a little bit further north from where you guys are planning to go, except it won't loop -- we'll carry on and come home the next day on Sunday.

I'm sorry about the time clash, it's just we're limited to what days we can go as we're intercepting an international visitor at Kerikeri to pillion around before she moves on.

Would anybody be interested in turning their one-day Northland loop (boring!) into a two-day Cape Reinga adventure (this one is much cooler!)?

Agreed... where are these stops going to be? I better not run out of petrol just because you buggers have bigger tanks or more fuel economy bikes... cause my bike its gorgeous to ride but needs petrol every 200km max (as we are doing twisties... so riding it hard will take more fuel!)

Gas stops will be about every 100 - 120km. Will fill up gas at westgate before we leave(obviously), wellsford, dargaville, oponuni (or somewhere around there) then back in dargaville, and an wellsford again.

Ice cream is going to be in the morning very close to shell westgate after we leave. reason we are not meeting directly over ato the ice cream place is that almost noone knows where it is it (which is a shame).

Lunch is planned for Oponuni - there is a nice place with lots a bike parking that we have been at on other rides. You could also munch on some musli bard till we get there.

i have often wanted to install an espresso/muesli 'bard' feeder through my helmet. you can take the girl out of auckland, but you can't take the auckland... etc.

There must be some bored holidaying UofA B.Eng student willing to put one together for you on KB! (Maybe YOU are one?)

Aside from beer helmet-type device to drip-feed readymade coffee...am thinking exhaust pressure &heat to drive compressors (similar to turbo?) and heat water for freshly extracted espresso. but what do I know...I did a BCom!

And the muesli bar...Didnt some one on AUSMC chow down while knee down or something? Could be something to try before heading down the feeder mechanism... :)

You could also munch on some musli bard till we get there.

bloody brilliant! sounds good... lets go. better gets me a good nights sleep tonight... but stilll might go swarming if there is a ride on

great :) as long as i dont need to stay up all night on skype yet again then i'm in. if i'm up all night then i'll come along for most of it and drop off back to auckland when i start to feel shattered ;)

is it the ice cream shop in kumeu just before the BP that your talking about? used to stop there and pick strawberries and eat ice cream often when i lived in waimauku... great ice cream indeed

You are back!

Sadly I won't be in the ride... <_<

hey EJ, yeah i'm back. got back last week and cant recommend enough spain if you ever get the chance. some magnificent twisties and mountains with amazing sites and vistas everywhere, even in the car!!! i had a wee blast around some village roads between tomino and baiona on a 96 CBRR600 that i told the guy i wanted to test ride and was thinking of buying but was just missing a bike so much and the little opel i was driving wasnt cutting the mustard ;) saw your having troubles yet again with your bike :( time to upgrade to something that will handle your twisting wrist more than your current beasty me thinks :innocent:

Hope you guys have a good ride! Would love to join but unable. The weather looks good too! Let Nzkalt lead you thru Paparoa to Oakleigh if you have time, it is SO much better than SH1. If you need an emergency ute/trailer in the whangarei area, try my cell 021 0796444.

awww shucks...i thought promoting awakedness and reducing hunger-pang distraction on a bike ride would be somewhat on topic to a 600km bike ride? :msn-wink:

Point taken...

May you fullas and fullaettes have 600km of eejit-cagers-enjoying $1.50/l-petrol free road.
And have compulsory photos & videos....
And that all remember to let tyres warm up after every stop y'all make. Puhleeease... (Northland be a bit further than Coro yar...)
And having all bikes&peeps coming back in same condition (fatigue + 600km-ride-adrenaline aside!)

And if you would feel compelled, do bring back some souvenirs of the wonderful flora that may present itself out yonder Northland ways. :doobey:

Nice 570k ride today, starting and ending at Westgate.

Thank you all for showing Up for fun fun time. Was really nice to meet you all.

Hope you all liked the ice cream

Chur chur for the northland Boys for joining us and giving us tour around their back yard. Thanks for showing us those shortcut roads too.

Glad also that we managed to avoid those Looooong Dargahell straights on the way back by going trough waipu. Next time we will avoid the straights both ways.

I forgot who were those boys on the two bikes who live in my Beach haven neighbourhood - shout out boys - we can go for local rides on short notice if you are keen.

Funniest thing today was watching Gremlin give a blow job to Tracey's bike - man why didnt I have my camera with me :killingme

Will with pleasure ride with any of you, any day boys and girls.

Catch ya on the next ride :soon:

Good day out had by all. I had to laugh at the Mobil on pre-pay in Dargaville when the mass exodus to the Caltex 300m down the road occured because they wouldn't show some initiative release the pumps to fill our bikes. That's the way I like to do it too - if they want to treat us like we're thieves, treat them like they're closed!

Also, spotted at the Opononi pub, a turboed Triumph something.
