... is when you are installing a new rad guard on your lovely Street Triple with Short-Circuit and you drop a nut behind the radiator and it doesn't fall on to the floor!

Couldn't see the bugger at all and wouldn't come out for ages.

Finally after some agressive bouncing and wiggling of the bike it dropped out!

I thought I was going to cry (or laugh) I was so bloody relieved..

Just thought i'd share... and thanks to Short-circuit for helping me wangle (technical term) the slightly out of line bastard rad guard on.

NAH !!!! fear is... when in the final stages of engine rebuild, bolting the cams down... and one bolt slips from your hand... and goes down the cam chain tunnel...

Oh yes. Been there. Also dropped one down the inlet manifold. At least you can get them out of there with the air gun.

unfortunately they're only any good if,
A: you can see the item
B: there's room to get it in there :(

Unfortunately, in my case, neither of those two applied.... so it was shake the bike mightily at Rossiesque lean angles :)

know exactly what you mean mate.

putting nc30 tank off and the fucking little rubber pads that go between tank and frame fell into the middle of the V4... and... well... its a..... V4.
(that means a fuckload of pissing about dismantling shit with such a compact engine)

nah fear is when you give the wiring a twist to find a faulty wire and you then watch the whole lot melt together, that is also when you learn how fast you can disconect the battery.

I hate when you forget to undo something.... then break the bit you want to get off cos you think it is stuck.... shit i hate when that happens.

Note to self do not use hammer before checking all bolts are undone.

Hmmm well there you go eh?

And I thought fear was that look of abject horror on my favourite mechanics face when I suggest that the CBX might need a carburettor synchronisation and the valve clearances done.....

It took around an hour to swap my old zx7r from twin seat rear fairing to a solo tail section (one piece, real bastard to wiggle on).

Right near the end, dropped a bolt into the fairing, dark, couldn't get it, it all came off again. A lot of words were said, none repeatable.

I once dropped my bike keys somewhere on my bike. Didn't land on the ground
After 20 minutes of tripping balls, I decided to just wheel her back into the garage.
*CHINKLE CHINKLE*
WHO'S THERE?!!? Turned the wheel again... Chinkle!
Turns on the keys got stuck halfway down the front of the headset, just outta site, side on.

Glue + one of these cylindrical magnets I have here.About 25mm long, 10mm wide. Quite strong. One can almost lift about 8kg's.

I would have thought , if he was on an hourly rate... the fear would be in YOUR eyes, when HE suggests doing that...

His preferred payment is red wine and lots of it. Thankfully he doesn't drink the proceeds whilst on the job! :)

Here's the link to the Street Triple rad guard... seems veryhigh quality... didn't fit exactly but managed to get it on with a bit of effort.... a very worthy purchase... the triple has a very exposed radiator and I had noticed quite a few impacts on the radiator already.

Didn't fix exactly? That's not my definition of very high quality... At that price I'd expect Santa in his fucking sleigh to deliver it, plus little elves to fit the bastard.
