Yes, as the title suggests, I am without a bike, and I am not riding, Thursday coming home I binned it on a corner. Fractured my wrist and pelvis and got air lifted out of wellington yesterday by life flight to gisborne for my recuperation period, oh it sucks. :doctor: The bike is getting written off.

I want to thank Skunk for all his great help and also Jim2 and Hitcher. Thanks guys!!!

Sucks to have a serious off, I've been in Hospital for an extended spell due to a big crash and it sucks.

Sure makes that first ride once you're out feel all the better though.

Taking time out to recover in Gisborne is a great idea. Pace yourself and only get back on a bike when you feel ready.

Sorry to hear that Sean... What happened? Which corner?

What do you plan on getting after you recover?

And, out of interest, why did you get air lifted to Gisbourne?

happened on the last turn into kaiwharawhara road from the hutt motorway. leaning on my right i think the wheel slipped on loose gravel and it threw me off to the left leaving me to land on my hip. Will be in gis for at least three weeks, been told no work for at least that period because, well, i can't sit down :spudwhat: People have been saying, oh well you wont be getting back on a bike again, i'm thinking, yeah right. I love riding. took the hospital 36 hours to notice i had broken bones :angry2:

as for things, i need a new bike, and when i get back to welly a new place to live. was meant to move out in three weeks. :brick:

A car and a bike. No idea what yet. Got brought to Gisborne because they would not release me to my three storey flat in wellington. so it was either send me to gisborne with my family or stay in hospital until i was better. :doctor:

Bloody cursed bike!, We are gonna come and pay you a visit seeing as you are a captive audience! hehehe,
Seriously though, that is one hell of a bruise, you must be feeling pretty sore and pissed off, there are worse places to be than Gizzy I'm sure. Glad you have access to a computer, I've checked out all the bike shops in Gizzy today and they all have bugger all in the way of bikes for sale, except there is a honda vtr 250 in great condition in Gis Honda, but it didn't have a price tag. You do realise your next bike needs to be a honda don't you! Was it Gisborne hospital that took 36 hours to determine you had broken bones?, if so that is shameful to say the least.

Dude, I feel for you with that bruise. For a mates stag party a few years back we went off to Roto-vegas and tried our hand at White Water Sledging (highly recommended). Great fun until about 1km from the end going through a shallow rapid and I let my leg drop in the water and slammed into a rock at about 20km/h :pinch: . Inside left leg had deep bruising from knee to sac and had done nerve and muscle damage. Couldn't walk once back on dry land (had to leave the boys to party later that night without me) and 3 monhts of physio and my leg is still tender and the muscles never really healed properly.

I'd do it again though, so good on ya for planning to get back on the horse.

Crikey Ramius thats a hell of a bruise. Really sorry to hear about your bin after our ride - what a way to end a good night out. I have only just got back to a computer to catch up with whats been happening. I have been in Gisbourne for a few days would you believe? If I had known I would have come to see you. My cage broke while I was there (ignition switch - bloody Hondas) and I had to wait for the part to come on overnight courier.
Hope you have a quick and hassle free recovery and look forward to seeing you on 2 wheels again soon
