Do you want me to spend $20k on a bike or not? Tell your dealers to stop telling me it'll be in the shops in a couple of weeks repetitively. The ones that actually check tell me you don't have a clue when they'll be here.

I heard of one guy waiting for six months before his new Honda arrived.

Yep,thats the one.If me i would hang out and ride one as if it rides as good as it looks in real life then the Trumpet wouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence.:shifty:Imho.Besides that i find it amusing when meeting up with new Trumpet riders who have somehow convinced themselves that riding one has filled there soul/spirit akin to what meant anything to the old Trumpet riders, sadly not but hey if there happy i guess thats what matters, bit like faking an orgasm to me.

With all due respect (i.e. none); rubbish. Blue Wing have advertised it as available to see if they could score free money from advance orders. They don't seem to understand that it's JAFH, not an MV Agusta.
I'd love to have a crack at one too, but I think I'll end up going elsewhere, just because I'd probably have a better chance of getting an XR1200 before the Predator.

Blue Wing seem to have no fucking idea about customer service. This issue is no surprise at all: a company that doesn't stock common parts for the bikes they sell is hardly likely to anything else of service to customers or potential customers.

BlueWing have a new General Manager, ex UK as I understand it. It'll take a while until he can affect any changes that show to us the consumers -
if ever.
I was told this morning that the local dealer has already lost three sales through being unable to deliver or even give a likely delivery date.
All that aside, the Predator should be a nice bike, just how long it's worth waiting for though...

Are you with one of the dealers who told me they would be getting a demo in with the first shipment? And specifically are you with the dealer who told me yesterday that no one knows when the bikes will be turning up? Or with the one that told me four days ago they just got off the phone to Blue Wing who didn't have a clue.
Just been told today by blue wing that the bikes were shipped to the dealers and none of the dealers had ordered a demo.
Blue wing and honda dealers (the two non-west dealers specifically) - stick your hondas up your arse.

Another thing that's pissing me off about honda is the lack of a road motard or two in the range. Pure and simple laziness.
I'm a Honda man, but they are completely ignorant of the market apart from farmers.
Also, they need to step up and fill the 400cc sportsbike niche, and maybe build a new CBR250RR.

One of us is having trouble understanding what's going on here.
The Honda in question is an Italian bike. World wide demand is huge and Bluewing being outside of the Honda family will presumably be down the pecking order. (Most national importers are now owned by Honda, Bluewing is not. Yet.)
Most of the people saying they aren't going to buy one because their merest whim was not instantly satisfied would be the kind of customer known in the trade as "tyre kickers". They were never serious buyers anyway.

Interesting...
Is that why BlueWing do such an apparently shit job of stocking parts and bikes? I'd always thought it was just because they were crap managers....
Your post leaves some hope that "one day" they'll be taken over by Honda, and that possibly they'll either get more betterer and/or Honda will change the management.
Mebbe it's a 'Catch22': because they're crap, people don't buy Hondas, and so they don't get good supply, so they're crap, so people don't buy Hondas...
In any case, it seems that Honda either don't do market research, or don't care what customers and potential customers think or want (outside of 'race replica' bikes like the CBRs...) The exception was Honda Mrka, where the market was potentially huge, so they allowed them to design and develop Mrkn bikes like the VTR1000, GoldWing, PC800, and the crusiers (Shadows, Ace, Valkyrie, Rune, etc.)

I bought my current bike because I was offered a ride. I had no (zero!) intention of buying a bike when I walked into the shop. A couple of rides later, a few words of encouragement, and I signed over $12k.
On the other hand, I've walked into several shops whilst seriously thinking about trading up, had a really good look at bikes, and been ignored, probably because I was categorised by the experts that worked in the shop as being a mere "tyre kicker".
A salesman can never afford to assume that - any customer is a potential buyer, if treated right. Another example in case is my ex-brother-in-law. He and a mate traveled to Auckland from Tokoroa (they both worked at Kinleith) with the express intention of buying a sportscar each, for which both of them had ample cash. They visited two dealerships and weren't taken seriously because they were dressed in jeans, jandals, etc., and obviously looked to the expert salesman like "tyre kickers". Eventually they found a professional who didn't have any such misconceptions.

I'm not saying nobody in this thread was seriously considering buying a CB1000R. Many of the posts though lack any credibility as having done any of the digging one would normally do if considering a purchase.
There are people have posted here who apparently don't even know where the bike was designed or is built.
One person thought it's overpriced. Compared to what? A Speed Triple, a Tuono, or even an FZ1? (And those bikes are the obvious competition.)
There are evidently posts by people who think Honda should stockpile bikes until world wide demand can be met instantly. Who's supposed to be paying the bills in the meantime wasn't mentioned.
Other people seem to imagine that no advertising should take place until the bikes get here. That'd be seriously unusual business practice. In fact it's only recently that the model has been advertised here although overseas websites and magazines have been featuring it for a few months now.
We are at the end of the world and we just have to live with that (unless you want to do your own importing which some people do).
My initial impression remains. Most of the people who said they aren't going to buy one now, never were. Y'all may feel free to spite me by rushing out and ordering one

Fuck mate I've put off buying a new bike 4 months ago when I found out I could demo one of these in a couple of weeks. Based on specs and looks it's been top of my list.
And yes I've been trawling through reports and forums, and there have been some negative comments on them. Which is why I wanted to ride one - to see how major the negative comments were......
