Still repairing the bike after the drop on the way back from Grub's escort to the airport so If I don't get her ready in time, I may need to borrow my mates Intruder. Will fit right in with the HOG's. Anyone got any tassels:blip:

Bike is fixed (Apart from a WOF! which I'll get tomorrow.) Just bumping this up to the top again.

This ride is NEXT SUNDAY. I would have thought more would be registered by now. Come on guy's. It's for a very good cause and it is a brilliant day. Almost 500 bikes last year ranging from a couple of Indians, scooters, HOGS, sports bikes, cruisers, choppers, trikes, sidecars etc. 70cc Scooter thru to 1500cc Goldwing's and every CC in between. Old, young (I take my 9yr old daughter as pillion), learner's, racers, posers, beginners, experienced. You name it, you can find it there.

This is nice sedate ride (with police escort from memory) from Mana to Wellington Queens Wharf Event Centre. Check out the official thread in the previous post or visit the calendar.

Come along and let's make this bigger than last year.

1. Everyone is welcome - hogs/sports/cruiser/young/old/Learner/restricted/scooters/male/female/undecided...

This is about helping the kids at xmas.

2. Sandbar is on SH1 north of Wellington. From the south it's on the left after going through Mana. From the north, It's on the right, about 4k south of the Weigh station. From the Hutt, head over SH58. At Pauatahanui roundabout, left around the inlet, right at the first roundabout. Right at the second roundabout. 1k on left. Or right at Pauatahanui roundabout, through the village, left around the inlet. At the lights, turn left and 1k on right.

3. Your choice of donated toy (or toys) Do not wrap. The Sally Army will do the wrapping.

Hey mate don't worry too much about how many register on here, alot more on kiwi biker will turn up than what is actually registered. Im in, and im bringing some guys from work as well. I find word of mouth works best. Some one should organise for some flyers to go out, bring in some of the daily commuters in that don't know a thing about these "organise ride thingys" that occur lol.

What was the number of bikes and how much was raised?

Well that was one of the better organised massed rides - big credit to Wellington HOG and the Police too...

The poor old Triumph got a bit hot n bothered crawling through Jackson St but - I don't think ours was the only one.

The folks along the way were genuinely glad to see the bikes and most motorists were considerate and reasonable - some of the other riders were utter dorks but in general less so than in other years. (there is a reason why a guy on an old bike, two up with drum brakes leaves a decent gap in front of him you muppets....)

Twas great that Vicki felt well enough to come along but she was sore and tired by the time we got home - had a little nana nap...

Great day, good cause, well run - WELL DONE HOG!

I had the single banger BSA, I thought my old girl was going to spit the dummy for a bit. I was listening for the rattle but she pulled through, maybe doesnt matter what the age of technology things still break down ... All in all it was a great ride with a great group

Fantastic occasion - thanks to organisers etc, top effort. Would that 750 bikes counted be way more than last year? Could have done with a bit of a cooling breeze - my bike got fairly hot, saw 114 degrees on gauge at one stage, but no worries.

Excellent day, also well done to HOG and cops :)

Even a 2009 technology Moto Guzzi Griso didn't like the slow crawling at some points also but nay mind.
The only real downer for me was I lost a glove (RHS one). Picked up my helmet which was next to the bike and went to leave Mana, only had one glove. Really strange. So, although it was nice and cool on my hands, would rather have been wearing them !!!
So if anyone has seen a short, black glove from Mana, let me know please.

Was rapt to win a prize for the newest Euro Bike but after figuring out I coudn't transport the excellent coffee table book on Choppers home easily, I located the Sally Army guy and gave it to him to donate to some little kid who will have their day brightened when they receive it as a pressie

My first toy ride,

Congratulations to the organisers and the Police plus all the wavers.
Pity about those two buses trying to push their way in off the Petone off ramp. All they had to do was wait a couple of hours
Put a quick slidy thingy on youtube below

it was a good ride and well organised but i do have to say some of those "HOG" guys ride like total wankers.

Seemed to me that there were a lot of non HOG riders who didnt have a clue on how to ride in a large group if you want to be accurate....a fair few sportsbikes seemed to think it was acceptable to cut in and out of a staggered line

Never mind maybe next year they will have learned how to ride

Well done DJ and all...a bloody good ride

So that was my first HOG toy run. I don't think I've ever ridden with that many bikes, ever! I didn't encounter any muppets and everyone was grinning most of the time. It would seem the R1 can put up with towning about, showing 98 degrees at the hottest part. My wee son arrived at the events centre a short time after we did, and nearly passed out at the number of bikes! He's only 2 but is mad about bikes, big or small. Big thanks to everyone at HOG, the Police and all the event sponsers who made the day run so smooth and for getting a whole heap of bikers in one spot doin' good.

My first toy run and it was an awesome experience to remember. Well done to all and thanks to those who have put up pics! Anyone got one from an overbridge looking back down motorway so you can see how stretched out the line was?

Hailwood

At one stage the line stretched from the corner before the Tawa turnoff to the hill before Tawa College..very impressive

I have just uploaded a few more pics.
now these ones were taken by my budding 4 year old photographer!!! So apologies for the lack of heads in some pics - hope you can spot yourself from your wheel in others!
I have picked the best honest!
She was a little too short to see over the fence on Petone bridge, so others have been taken with a very attractive fence bordering the photo! LOL!
