Where the hell is the engine number for zxr250c?

Pretty much says it all really. I'm re-vinning a ZXR250c and can't for the life of me spot the engine number. I have a sneaky suspicion its under the airbox on top of the gearbox area... but don't want to pull that fricking thing out if I don't have to!
Maybe mum was right all those years ago and it really did make me go blind...:(

Take a look down by the sidestand area. I can't remember where it is, but you don't need to take anything off to see it.

Well, found it. Not near gear lever but on opposite side of bike directly underneath the clutch housing facing the ground. In the end I had to call a mate who had a motor out on his floor and it still took him a while to find it!
very very sneaky...
