With MotoGP and WSBK seemingly going in opposite directions, it begs the question: Will Noriyuki Haga's Xerox Ducati be as quick, if not quicker than Mika Kallio's Alice Ducati next season..?

They're saying that the fastest guys in the World SBK field are as fast as, sometimes faster than, the slowest guys in the MotoGP field. :eek5: (not).

You can't argue those statistics...
What was interesting, the WSB fastest laps were all different guys... Bayliss, Corser, Haga, Nieto, Fabrizio and Nuekirchner. GP was a mix of Rossi, Hayden and many by Stoner...
Slowest GP guys, a few by West and Melandri and Toseland with 1

I remember hearing last year that the leaders in races at WSBK rounds would be lapping with 4s of the fastest riders in MotoGP, which would put them at the back end of mid-field in most races. There's not a whole lot in it when it's raining either!

and pirelli is aiming to with the 09 tires to get another 0.6s per lap in speed over this year
where motogp is meant to be slower than this year, with control tires, so have to see what next year brings

Hard to compare with the spec tyre rules and shorter WSBK races.
Bayliss showed the best of the WSBK boys are good enough. On the one occasion he had his preferred WSBK team behind him and on a largely unfamiliar MotoGP machine he cleaned up in both qualifying and the race.

well both are on spec tires this comming year, shorter races not much difference still who go fastest lap. i guess tire life comes in to it, but still.

Huh? WSBK races are usually 20-22 laps... MotoGP is about the same.
WSBK also runs two races in one day, less than 2hrs after the first - surely a tougher competition in terms of rider fitness and endurance.

i think it be bit like that having to race twice one day inestead of only once, use to be that the 500cc use to be hard to ride lots, but the new 4 strokes seams alot easyier to ride and ride more
