I hope you are ok.
The sheer incompetence of people continues to amaze me.
Riding city bound on Remuera rd this morning in the (new) bus lane and just in front of me watched a Cage dive into our lane right in front of this poor bastard riding a scoot... no time to react. Bang, he hit the car and bounced down the road.
Next part was unexpected... the car took off
I stopped and asked the rider if he was ok... the language was colourfull so obviously he was not in imminent danger of swallowing his tongue.
Ever wanted to do a car chase?
I took off after this tosser behind a cage driver, they flew into one of the side streets where they slowed down enough for me to get in front and bring them to a halt.
Adrenaline was flowing as this stage... half expecting a P crazed mongrel mob type to jump out with a crowbar...
She was late thirties... could'nt speak much english... making some excuse that she didn't know she hit anyone.
Yeah well, the side of the car was well bashed, broken wing mirror, trashed side panel FFS.
Called 111. The cops finally turned up (20 mins lol). No doubt this will cost her plenty... maybe she ran cos she had no license, residency??
Phew what a morning... and all before 7.30.
Biker was ok apparently, usual grazes and bruises, cut hand. The Scoot would be well stuffed.
Take care out there.

Hey, good on you!
Remuera scares me shitless. You think you've seen bad driving in Parnell -- they like to do 20kph in 50kph zones, and driving on the wrong side of the road to avoid parked cars. South Auckland is worrying, but the Bongo wagons are so slow-moving that they're easy enough to avoid. But the sheer obstinacy of drivers in Remuera (the main shops are the worst) is worrying. Soccer mums. I once had to tootle the horn trumpet melodiously at first; soccer mum looked surprised and wound down the window to look aggrieved and shout `why were you beeping at me and pulling hand signals?!' Didn't believe me when I told her she was deciding to make her own lane by putting half her car in her original lane and half her car in my lane. Red lights apparently don't have much meaning here either.

Meh....today felt like a Bang-a-bike day.
A car overtook me on my left within my lane, going right.
A Baby Factory van staying right next to my exhaust on my right, refusing to let me merge.
Another van in motorway overtook me on my right within my lane and cut in front.
Another turned into my lane from a side street.
A black Holden zigzaged around me.
And those are just within 15 minutes ride home.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but maybe it's a white people revenge on poor non-english native biker? I blame that guy who started this thread...don't chase the hongkong mafia, dude. You're dooming us all.....

awww shucks :o
Don't forget the cage that took off after her as well  Was a team effort (he is a property developer as well!).
Was just doing what we all woulda' done. Couldn't read the plate properly and TBH if biker was looking sick would've stayed with him.
Its a mad old world :(

It's bloody nice to have witnesses help out when you've been bowled. When I had a head on with a wrx (yes turned in front of me) he took off up the road and 3 people go out and chased him. Then were going to smash him...which wouldn't have helped anything really...but was entertaining none the less.
May all your chrissy presents big large my friend...we need more champions.

bling from me too.
I would also like to think if that happened to me that someone would catch up to the bad guys and ring the fuzz.
A couple years back I had a headon crash in a cage, against a drunk suicidal driver in a huge 4wheel drive with bull bars on the front. He hit me on purpose then fled the scene by hitching a ride with a car that passed the accident. Had it not been for the fast thinking of the locals who attended me at the scene he would have got away. They got his description and the plate of the car he got into.
Story ended well. He got done and went away for a spell. 5th or 6th dwi offence.

Good on you mate for doing the good deed.
I ride in to work the same way myself, usually go through there at aboyt 6.30am so there is not much about, however coming home is a different story.
You are right, people can be amazing with their actions, we see it day in and day out. You did great for calling in the cops and getting this cager banged to rights.
Hope the scooter dude is ok as well

Mate, I had a posh slapper in a 4WD pull out in front of me. When I remonstrated at her, the reply was "Well, like, dont ride a bike then cos they are harder to see"
Must be in the water supply....

Meh....today felt like a Bang-a-bike day.
...
I also had a mad day yesterday. Had a car change lanes virtually on top of me on the way to work, then a bus try to crush me against the curb on my way home (bus was changing lanes - I was already alongside it when it started indicating about half a second before it moved in on me).
I used to watch the Invisible Man when I was a kid and wish I was invisible. Now I AM invisible and I've discovered it's not so good after all. :(
