So I had the gear lever on my Tyga rearsets break, and my first reaction was "*#$%! Someone knocked my bike over at work!" - but have a look at the pictures and you'll see there's no evidence of the bike ending up on its side:

<img src="http://www.ascari.co.nz/lever1.jpg"/>

<img src="http://www.ascari.co.nz/lever4.jpg"/>

<img src="http://www.ascari.co.nz/lever6.jpg"/>

I thought it was just plain bizarre that the gear lever would split in the way it did, especially as I don't bash the shit out of the lever - and stomping on it would cause the top part to break anyway. So I emailed Tyga, didn't get a response for two weeks, then emailed them again and got the following reply:

Hi Kieran

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. Firstly, let me say that this is the first time I read your mail. I just checked my spam filter and somehow it has stopped your previous mail on the 11th and I apologise for that. We always take such issues very seriously and give highest priority in dealing with them.

It seems to me that there is an issue with the material rather than misuse and we will gladly replace this part immediately.

Please can you confirm your postal address and we will ship EMS to you right away.

Our sincere apologies for the defective part and not dealing with it sooner.

Paul Pearmain

Managing Director

I can understand where he's coming from regarding the spam filter - no bullshit detected. Just glad that the replacement part is being sent out, they aren't even asking the faulty part to be sent back first.

Good on you TYGA! :first:

Yep they are top class for any problems even going as far as sending me a replacement mudguard as mine was damaged in the post. Had the new one in a couple of days and was perfect.

I'll also vouch on behalf of a mate, whose disk warped shortly after purchasing it, they sent a new one out free!

Top notch stuff Tyga!

Who the fuck are you on about this time?

The disks were warped when I got them. I imagine the postmen must've dropped the package. I asked TYGA about what I could do, they said they'd ship me some new ones. Don't worry about returning the current ones as it'd cost me too much. I was overwhelmed with how good they were I only took the one since I didn't want to take advantage of a good bunch of dudes. I've since got used to the shake, and the pads bedding in have made slowing down smoother, so now I have a spare disk basically. I owe them, which will be a good excuse to get a whole bunch of goodies now :p

Yup. Polishing a steel linkage was a stupid idea. I'm gonna hit it with a wire wheel & paint it black this weekend. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

I only hear good things about these guys.

has anyone tried their disk rotors? For an nc30 they do under 300 NZ for a set of 2 disks which is bloody cheap...
