I have an '07 690SM that I use for just about everything from the race track
to adventure rides. Wondering if anyone knew if the 21" front
wheel from a 690 enduro would fit on the sm?

This would be assuming i'd just take the brake rotor off my current 17" front
wheel and attach it to the 21" enduro wheel. Are the hubs a similar size?
Would I need to offset the brake rotor outwards to reach the sm's caliper?

According to the KTM OEM parts catalogue, they're different hubs at least.

Someones suggestion was buy another hub the same as what i've got, then get a 21" rim and get one of those spoke guru's to do a custom job...
Might be the way to go.

Spoking a wheel isn't that hard anyway, just have to have the right spokes, know the pattern and have the equipment to true it up.

According to ktm-parts.com and after studying the OEM parts manual. The enduro wheel fits.
The SM wheel already has a spacer on the hub for the brake rotor, you just take it over the enduro wheel when you put the brake rotor on it!
Woo!
Plus the rear 18" fits as well. Hrm, mufflers or wheel set...

Yes, lol -- could you fill a poor KTM-less motard-lacking mortal like me in on what you're trying to achieve? Is it really that crappy offroad on 17"?

Well, he bought the sm, and it seems like he's doing his level best at turning it into an enduro... which already exists...

Hrm, mufflers or wheel set...

You know you want the wheels :shifty:

Have you compared your motard to a bike with a 21" front on moderately rough surfaces?

I would expect the 21" to be a lot nicer, but being able to quantify the difference could help with your decision.

Oh it's not crap off road, but would be more comfortable.
yes I bought the right bike since I spend 99% of my time on the road!
