Apparently due to the current financial situation, my job, and 8 of my team-mates jobs are being "disestablished" (the word 'redundancy' has not been mentioned) and are getting replaced by 5 new jobs. As 9 doesn't go into 5 (and as I bought my first house on saturday) I am moderately concerned. My previous roles have included client services registry officer in the financial industry, and sole charge warehouse manager.

So... if anyone out there is looking to employ a warehouse manager or client services officer, or even anything in purchasing or really anything (can't afford to be too fussy) please drop me a PM or post here.

Thanks

Sucks. There's a lot of it about, though, and more to come, I think.

Best of luck with your search.

Best of luck mate!

Had the same thing this year. Proposal to do away with people/restructure/etc/etc. My report to the boss simply pointed out all the flaws in the management's logic and then pointed out that we have a market dominance in an area that they were not aware of.
Plonkers.

Step one - talk to the bank - NOW. See if you can set up a line of credit - overdraft, revolving credit account. Tell them you're after a car or something bigger if needs be.

Available credit is your friend on a rainy day...

Mate, I hope it works out ok for you. Did you take out income/mortgage protection insurance?

I refixed my mortgage recently and made sure I was covered for redundancy...a package offered by the BNZ.

Guess what? Just got made redundant...

Fortunately I have a job offer already and double fortunate in that I have a water-tight redundancy clause in my contract...even if I find another job before my termination date I still get a full payout.

I only forfeit if I find another job within the same company.

Hey you might be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get 'dis-established'... heres hoping...
