Hey guys, first post here :D

Well, I'm having a little bit of trouble navigating these forums and dont know where to post this, so I will post it here.

I have been given a shitty cheap 110cc "off road" bike, its called a thumb star (wannabe thumpstar).

The problem is that I was given it because it was broken, the guy who gave it to me paid $700 I think and had only ridden it 5 or 6 times before he broke it.
The thing wrong with it is that when you go to kick it over, it has no compression.
Apparently the chain fell off so he put it back on and went to kick it over and as he was doing it he heard a snapping sound.

So i grabbed it off him the other day and I noticed the bike has next to no compression.

Anybody able to tell me what that is as I don't have the right tools and knowledge to open it up and have a look.

Thanks.

Parts are real cheap for those cheap asian thingies, if you can get parts.

Probabaly just rings. Do they have manuals for these things?

Piston rings in the chinese bikes are very poor and the metal is soft. They loose any "spring" they have very soon. Just been down the same road with a small 90cc chinese dirt bike. As the motors are copies of japanese ones, as soon as you figure out what they have used as a blueprint you can get the jap parts and fit them.

This thread is useless w/o pics!
