I shan't be doing a tour report of my recent South Island Tiki, cause lets face it, I cheated. Yes to my utter shame I did it in a cursed campervan but if yawl forgive me, I'll call it a recon mission for my future bike trip. ;)

I'd just like to share a few images of my travels and reflect on the fact that all of us are incredibly lucky to live in this breathtakingly beautiful, crazy, awesome Country.

Oh and a big thank you to all those that recomended things to do and see, I couldn't do them all but I've gotta save some for next time.

Those 'midges' are called sandflies, and yes, they're real nasty fookers.
We were warned about mosquitoes in Fiordland, but the sandflies in Haast were the worst. Bastids would bit through thin clothes, bite the bits you'd missed with the repellent (like under your watchstrap, between your fingers, etc., and this was inside the motel! You'd be eaten alive outside.
Never had any problems with mozzies.

I'm still sorting out the (literally!) 4200-odd photos I took in August/September! And now I can't remember what some of them are. Thank goodness for Google Earth, and the foresight to take photos of road signs along the way.
