spose I can add a few pics of the nero in the making...
the engine in the bike wasent mine so it had to come out and as my stock engin was to go in, what the hell time to port, pipe, carb, cam & CDI. The bike is a x Stanko bike and it recently put him in hospital and all he was doing was turning it to put on the trailer, so I had a bit of damage to sort aswell.

Have you sold the two classic buckets?
You've gone to the dark side - YOU will have to stay somewhere else now... :oi-grr: Still room for your lady though.

Well well. Best hope new owner/s? of your old bikes don't hand you yer arse on a plate, be most embarrassing.

Flash paintwork huh? Well I've fibreglassed the piece of my 50 tailsection that was about to breakaway from my BOB crash. Had some bog over that but I ran out of time to sand it & just sprayed some matt black over it, you know, temporary like. . . hmm, 6 months later, maybe I should sand it.

I'm sure it looks better than the "shoebox-with-fibreglass-over-it" seat you used to have.

I'm still bitter about selling my FXR before the four-stroke cc limit got moved up from 140.

Now that they're legal, I'm surprised anyone bothers racing on anything else.

Cause it's not all about speed. There is some style in bucketing too.....:girlfight: I think it would make bucketing boring if we all had FXRs and similar.... and I like 2 strokes, there's something primal about them (or is that ferral?).

Funny you should say that, cos the engine builder BrenChCh asked if it felt wicked... I said the MT of mine felt faster, even tho they are on par, but its that primal ferral thing you mention about the stroker, Ill miss it cos the FXR is very bland... but grunty.

A well built two stroke will shit all over a FXR, just not many people will put the time and effort into building one

I bet. Still, degreaser works wonders. And at least the FXR will still have won the race.

Ferral like a Ferrit up one Trousers. Ferral, Ferrit, Trousers, Ohooooo the primal thrill of a two stroke.

That's what I find so interesting about bucket racing is the differences between people's bikes depending on what they've done to them. It's half the fun and challenge of it too, otherwise we'd all race Streetstock.:zzzz:

You seem pretty haughty as an internet expert. So tell me how many FXRs have won the national GP?

That would be zero. In fact outside of Chch how many have even won a club champs? zero again.

For that matter how many 4 strokes have won a F4 GP over the last 20 or so years?
Morley Sheriffs I believe was the first, erm sorry, memory fading, maybe it was Chris his son, then nothing for 10+ years then I think Carl Morgan on a 125 twin a few years back. So not much of a history there. :zzzz:

NZ F4 TT = FXR......The last two Greymouth street titles = FXR.

I'm the first one to agree that a hot two will cream a FXR but our fxr's are getting pretty quick down here, to the point that they are now keeping the purpose built Aussie CBR's honist. The great thing 'bout a MotoFXR is they need minimal love and some gas. With a hot 2 running on the longer curcuits we do down here you are waiting for it to expire, meanwhile the FXR's are accumulating points, remember the tortise and hare. Taupo will be no different, I expect to see more hot two strokes parked in the pits than FXR's, but if one of those hot two's hold togeather they will easily take the title. End of the day its one race not a series so that has to weigh in the smokers favour.

There have been plenty of people making noises about fast twostrokers, but unless you have a good understanding of how they work and keep them in good tune they will bite big (either pocket or your arse.....or both)

It was Chris Shirriff not Morley. It was a XL125S engined bike with a bit of Morley magic, and it dropped a valve the very next time they started it.
Old #6 lasted 6 years or so making 22.5hp or so and that included plenty of use on longer tracks including Pukekohe. Like anything, a good 2-stroke is only as reliable as you build it.

Yeah had a memory refresh since posted, Blue square tanked black engine 'onda single. Everyone was pretty shocked. But Chris (or with a K?) rode the wheels off it.
