I read that the Mike Hailwood tt bikes engine failed at the finish line, and that the motor later ended up in another bike.
Does that mean there are two TT Mike Hailwood bikes???

That looks like Sir Al's leathers and helmet.

Steve built more than one bike but that is the only Hailwood bike I believe with Sir Al on it.

If you mean the 1978 bike i believe in a Steve Wynn article i have, it said some engine parts were scrapped and the rest might have been onsold so it is not as raced in 1978. (iirc)
Maybe the pic is the 1979 bike ?.
I thought the 78 bike was sold in running form (Japan) to fund the next bike.

At the end of that TT the motor was trashed. It was replaced for a post-TT meeting (somewhere like Oulton or Mallory) at which the bike was effectively destroyed in a crash. Parts were spread far and wide and as a result, I've now seen three genuine Mike Hailwood TT-winning bikes so far.
