I ended up wanting to go for a ride yesterday but had to stay in with the family instead so resorted to finding a decent bike movie in our collection. I realised it's pretty crap ... we only had Torque and Wild Hogs.

What do you watch? What should I look to buy for a bike fix via the telly?

I watched Torque by the way ... awesome offroad sportbike riding ... not

biker boyz is ok for a laugh

what is it with movies and all vehicles make like a dozen gear changes and the 10 second 1/4 mile is like a minute long???

Torque is a great movie in terms of cinematography. Plot and character development though is minimal to say the least.

I don't think a single character changed down a gear in the entire movie too.

Have a bit of a thread dredge - I recall there was one or more along these lines in the past.

Is torque the movie with that kiwi dude, the black rapper and the cornering all done on the back of a trailer?

If it is...you own that??????

I think there are only cool bike scenes in movies. They can never hold it together long enough to do an entire flick.

I hate the way in movies (mission impossible I am looking at you) the bikes during a chase change from road bikes to road kitted dirt bikes and back again.

Friggen annoying.
Perhaps I should just laugh at it. :angry2:

My vote goes to Mad Max 1 and I also like the opening scenes in the HD and the Marlboro man when he first starts up his Harley in the early morning.

Easy Rider is pretty good, but the movie is only part of it, the side story, behind the scenes stuff they have on the DVD is really interesting. It adds a huge depth to the movie.

Any of the bike roadtrip movies are fun whether you're laughing at the rider, the bike or the circumstances. Long way Round with Charlie and Ewen is hil;arious for the BMW's getting cracked frames then the next thing you know the cameraman is riding a Russian or something bike and he gets through these mud bogs while the others continually get stuck. I don't hink it was the Cameraman's bike that failed. Then a little further along there are 3 BMW's again. Clearly a fresh one had miraculously turned up.

I see a recent survey of the best motorcycle scenes had left out "The Matrix". How cool was the lady on the bike (carrie-Ann Moss?). The fact that she rides was a bonus for me.

What we need is a really cool biker movie with a good story line and well developed characters.

Start writing folks. You know even if you produce a half decent movie it'll sell to the bike fraternity.

The Great Escape sits near the top of any list, or you could just go alphabetical:
