I dunno, it makes me happy to see 'normal' people get nice things. Makes me think of Louis Armstrong and his good old 'Wonderful World'.

I hope it works out well for them. For many people, sudden windfalls like that completely fuck up their lives. I know of several families torn apart by squabbles over lottery winnings.
My bro-in-law won $200k on the Spinny Wheel Thingo (dunno what it's called - I never buy Lotto tickets, so I'm miles ahead of most people who do contribute to this voluntary tax scheme). Anyway, he stuck the money in the bank, and thought, "This'll be kewl, looking at my new huge bank balance!" He forgot about the revolving credit thing, and when he looked at the balance, the $200k had been sucked into the mortgage. :weep:

He owed $200k (or more) on his mortgage. He won @200k on Lotto. This paid off (part of? most of?) his mortgage. How is this a bad thing?
