I always keep an eye on the offroad threads it seems most of you are mainly trail riders etc, which of you guys race and who is the man lol which one of your mates is the guy that leaves you behind?
He has to be a current KB member and he (or she) has to actually still ride offroad......

it depends on the type of trail, if its really tight and technical then the smaller displacement two strokes with any good pilot would probably leave an excellent rider on a big bore thumper for dust, and vice versa for open fast trails, the big bore would be faster
But its not me and i havent ridden with any of the guys of here so i cant say

i agree and disagree somewhat, as im resonably quick in the tight and gnarly muddy shit, with tree rooots and shit, not so keen on the open flat stuff, get to scared of falling off drop offs

Fair enough, so your normally the one doing all the passing in the tight stuff?
As for the fast stuff, not really my thing so i just put it in top and idle along, then get passed my guys flat on the tank only to pass them again in the tight stuff. Also i dont like falling off...
Some people just like going fast.
I wonder if you'd go faster if you rode a lighter two stroke in the tight stuff? sorry, sont think that'll happen

yeah i tend to pass in the alot in the tight stuff, problem is im 120kg, smaller 2t dont like me too much, and tend to use the tourque of the 450 to my advantage on tree roots and snotty lil parts.

Well I be thinkin...(shud up)
Are we talking MX. Enduro or X country?
How about a novelty event where there is a bit of everything.Except throwing the keys into the circle.:dodge:
Start on a MX track at the Sandpit (5 laps on a made up course in the old carpark) Scull a bottle of coke, eat a cold pie, then off to some tracks incorporating maybe the loop track and John Nicks trail of dome then back for more laps around the old car park again. More coke and cold pies along the way as well.
Throw in a BBQ and we could have the inaugual KB cup. First round is first past the post and the next round in a few months time is handicaped (all honda riders get penalised and have to eat 2 pies).
Well just an idea, as this was how the Dead toad and the T100 started.
I'd put up a trophy..Pine cone on a plate.
If you guys want to do something like this then come up with a concept and I'll buy in.

Could also make it into a 'poker run' for us slow guys...... Cool idea Tony.....
Poker run for those who don't know is five laps of a set course, you get dealt a card each time you complete a lap, best poker hand at the end wins.

If its stagered starts then it wont matter 5-6 bikes at a time 1 min appart each group and ill guess it will have to be like the 2 moons sign on at 5 pm then park can run as per norm and markings can be set up in the afternoon start at 6 on dark till after 8 so 2hrs should be heaps bbq and drinks at car park early feb late jan time to sort it.

11th December 2008, 13:12
What will be the prize for the winner? I think a mass start would be better if we can.. Stagered start will be harder if dont have the numbers then you get the hassel of classes and lap scoring.... Would it be a kb only event? Tracks backward would be ok how ever i dont think having them run the normal way would be an advantage anyway as race lines and trail ride lines are different and a track never looks the same at race pace. How many laps? Could run it as a 2 hour xc

Like the sound of this hard-case-race idea very much. Pine cone trophies easy to make, so make plenty of 'em then I'll have a chance at winning something.
Enjoyed each and every one of the new (to me) trails on Sunday. Thanks for all the hard work Sandpit boys, outstanding. Found the woodchopper trickiest and hardest to read. Had a couple of inadvertant off-track excursions there. Always try to fit in a run down the trail of doom, and had a laugh at the sign by old carpark too. Top entertainment value all the way round.

a mass start sounds like chaos, kinda cool but very scary, but a staggered start will encourage the not so confident to participate, I think youll find alot of people will come along, maybe more so than you would get on a summers saturday at the sandpit????, KTMboy's call at the end of the day??

I was thinking due to the parks opening hours and set up time that from the center out to beach anticlockwise round the out side back up throught the centre then round the outside through the super bowl clockwise right round the outside back the center cross over then clockwise throught the dipper and round to the car park using all the outer edge tracks.
this would require less time to set up and tape over tracks not ment to be use (as short cuts)
sorry dont have fancy pc to draw map
