Pity your bike has to be fuel injected. Probebly blow the engine up anyway.

A bike with nos........ dont ya'lls bikes go fast enough already?
Anyway I remember seeing a guy on a custom built beach cruiser that had nos on it. Had the jocky shift aswell, thought that guy was nuts. Still it was his bike and he loved it.

Amazing the dumb-arses that kept on asking "will it work on my XXXX" - shit you only had to read the first bit to know it would "work on any injected engine" FFS!!!

Bloody Useless bit of kit here (http://www.1tail.com/sa/cart/detail.asp?pg={0A183FE1-40D3-4B3B-8E1D-D25ECDEC5DF8})
Rather make one that was wide enough to created some sparks when you have your knee down

what about that 97 Blackbird in chch with all the kit, paint (satan style) and a nice little nos kit that ramps up the HP from 147 to 206 or therabouts...

I'd hit it, although was a pricey bugger 1500$ for the kit - think it was in kiwirider *shudder*

Drooling over some of the stuff on this site: www.mpsracing.com (http://www.mpsracing.com)

So, it's either get a riding jacket and draggin pants or stick with the race leathers and get a NOS kit. What do you reckon?

John

nice gear is the winner dont send the humble CBRR to a early grave I havnt raced you yet :P

Get something better than draggins IMO I feel they are junk I was reading they offered a crappy slid protection rate like 2sec or something :S....

get a teknic 2 piece 900$ tis quite tastefull to :P

Most nitrous systems will only function with the throttle at 100% open, therefore the button would do nothing.

Although not my style, I've seen that bike up close many times and I have to say it is an impressive setup and paint job.

Have you had a read of Bugerman's (http://www.diy-nitrous.fsnet.co.uk/motorcycle-nitrous-injection-system.htm) website?
I tried to order some solenoid's through Farnell but they weren't of any assistance. I will have to find a good pneumatics supplier to get a solenoid capable of stopping 1200psi of nitros flow.

Was this too hard to do or relatively simple being a small engine?

he drilled a hole under the carby and inserted the nozzle and then sealed around it... we then hooked the solenoid to a battery and ran it till it died!!!!
full throttle then added some NO2.... woohoo!!! it was never going to be a long term thing...

Mr Alarumba and Sniper CBR. Somehow I don't think you have fuel injection. Better start again. Besides its not how fast you go on the straight bit it's how you corner. :ride: :ride:

The offer is still on Sniper. If ya want to be able to keep up on the next ride I am still happy to take the FZR out with one spark plug unhooked.

Ummm. Wouldn't 20-40 hp increase like double the hp of the mini blades?

Argh me harty, who's be needing Fuel injection when you can just re-route it through your spark plugs :spudwhat: Kidding

Stevo, the only reason I let you race off on the last ride was because I was keeping our other rider company, besides, I dont want to have to tow you home once the FZR stops going

Nah, at least the fuel injection will last and give the 250 a nice boost, will take me at least a month of work but If I can find a ZXR400 engine then I will drop it in the 250 frame until I get the fuel injection done, but anyways I will start a thread when I find a 400 engine

Can you modify the engine to have fuel injection? Or can you get a kit that needs no fuel injection?

I'm sure I could rig up a NOS tank and feed it to the airbox. Not as direct as fuel injection, but it might work

Also, get some R/C Nitro Car Fuel!! (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBMZ9&P=7) 40% Nitromethane :devil2:

Yes fuel injection is abit more easier to implement and wont kill the engine as easy as the nos - and will give you about 60hp.

Once I get started I will give you all the details on it, I'm still hunting parts down myself.

Supposedly, Nitros won't hurt the engine so long as your in high revs when you switch the jets on (at lower revs, too much N2O gets into the cylinder between each spark, creating more pressure than if a little bit of it went into the cylinder before each spark) and you don't use it for a prolonged time (The nitrogen won't be able to absorb all the heat, and the engine will eventually get too hot, and cause major damage)

And did I read that correctly, will you be fuel injecting you ZXR?

The reason I like fuel injection is mainly becuase you get all that extra power over all ranges, Dont know how big the torque curve will be but it should be interesting, and doesnt cost a crapload to refil a bottle, just plain ole' 91 and abit of direct injection woo!

It will be interesting making the injectors for the ZXR and the mechanisim, so thats why I'm hunting down a ZXR400 (with decent motor) so that I can have a bike while I'm working on it because apparently the mounts are the same on the ZXR400 as the ZXR250, so yea - then I will inject the 250 and buy a 400 frame, then dump the 400 into the new frame and put the 250 (injected) back in it for everyday use - which will be interesting on those early morning cold starts trying to prime the injectors - maybe I will havto heat them or sumthing oh well should be fun - plus a 400cc motor in a 250cc frame, so no liscence issues here - move along people :done:

Hoo hoo hooo {devilish laugh}

Sounds like fun, wonder if it can be done to the CBR

Allthough, I want to start racing, and I'm not allowed to modify the bike, at least with the nitros, you could disconnect it and say the bike is (relatively) stock

Good luck on the 250/400 hybrid though. Don't forget, whilst your frame is by itself, get it powdercoated or anodised :niceone:

Try that idea and you'll be riding a 'Chernobyl' engine,- goofing around with nitrous and engines will lead to tears if you don't have a fuel enrichment system to cope with all the O2 from the nitous,

Get it wrong and your mixture leans out? - exit one motor.
