if any one is in nelson for new years and needs something to do there is a punk gig with a few bands at onekaka which is in the golden bay. its on new years eve and will cost about $5 to go towards the hire of the hall
there is heaps of room for camping and the mussle inn is nearby - so if u arent into punk there is a reason to be there
maybe somewhere to stay if u are in nelson for the street races the next day or the dusty butt a couple of days later
