Has anyone traded in their Hyosung? If so what values did people get for them?

Just wondering whether it is worth trying to sell mine privately!

Thanks

Depending on the kms, condition and any modifications 5-5800 id say

Any vehicle looses at least 30% in the first 12 months (cars loose 42% apparently). Most people seem to be paying around the 7k mark for GTR's although thats not the cheapest price so instantly your bike is worth $4900 to a dealer modifications are worth less than maybe to someone on trademe.

Functional mods (i.e ventura pack rack) are probably worth a bit more than performance mods.

Any damage at all will lower the value of the bike, or any accidents (even if fully repaired) also lower the value.

You'll normally get a better price selling privately than trading in. If you are offered an unbelievably good deal as a trade it's normally because the dealer has loaded the price of what he's trying to sell you. sell privately and buy privately is my recommendation just make sure you run all the checks.

I get $6k for mine if traded before 12 months (before it's a year old). Problem is, I'm not sure I'll want any of the bikes they stock when upgrading. I've looked around on Trade Me for private sellers and looks like mint ones that are just over a year old are going for $6k maybe $6,500.

I would have thought that I could trade mine into another dealer for $5k. Which is a little annoying because if I went to another dealer, I'd be looking at a more expensive bike (gixxer) compared to where I got mine from (kwaka).

So no one has any firm trades or does no one trade their GT250R?

4500 max trade in unless you have a deal with a bike shop

yeah bikes shops didnt' really want the bike... I sold privately for bout same price the bike shops offered me. Better someone else get a good deal than the actual dealer.

Was offered $5.5k for mine before i wrote it off  Had done 10,000 km's, and was intending to buy a new $17k bike.

Remember - its not the actual $$$ you get for your bike - its the entire deal - look at the difference only.

No point getting a extra $500 for the Ho'Bag if they have the new bike 'over priced' by $800

Agreed.

What I posted was the short version. Was buying an '08 CBR600RR RRP $16,795, and the deal was $16k for the bike, plus $5,500 for the Hyo, meaning it woulda cost me $10,500 all up. Then I crashed the Hyo, couldn't ride or work for months, so could no longer afford it
