Hi There,

My Honda VTR 250 (2007) has developed a bit of a stickey throttle... it wont snap back straight away. Can someone give me some pointers to begin here? Thanks!!!!

Simon

PS: It has those oxford heated grips on it.

same problem but never bothered me kind of a maori cruise control lol
but you grips will be rubbing against the controls if you for got the wee oe spacer, or its rubbing against a bar end?
you may need to trim grips down or get another spacer made/buy for the other side

Check to ensure the cable to the right heated grip isn't snagging on anything. Check too that the throttle cables aren't crimped or bent, and that there's no crap between the grip and the switchblock. If there's any crud under the throttle tube itself (beween there and the handlebar), that could also make it stick.
Don't put CRC or whatever down the throttle cables - they have (I think) nylon inners, and petroleum-based lubricants and plastic generally don't mix. There are good lubes for that, but I dunno what they are.
My throttle sticks too - it's a pain, and I've dismantled the switchblock several times, lubed things up etc put it's still just as bad. I just put up with it, and hope if/when I crash, the throttle's not stuck wide open.

actually now that i think about it it started when i took the front light off to fix the left indicator... the idea that the cable is crimped or something fits... i will take a look tomorrow. Thanks!
