Just bought a 1988 Kawasaki GPX250 but the feering/fairing/pheering??!! near the handle bars has some gashes in it, and the lower part (that normally says "Ninja"...) now only says "(insert nasty scratch here) nja"
Must have been dropped at some time, but the bike runs well enough.
Can someone list the Bike wreckers around Auckland, or a respected Kawasaki part supplier as a last resort
Years ago, there was a place called the "Motorcycle graveyard" but I can't find a listing for that anymore.

What colour is yuor fairings? i have some track suitable ones here, but they are all a bit damaged, although the belly pan is still in good nick, small crack at the back of it near a screw point. but i think you are referring to the top fairing which is one piece for both left, right and front?
pic is attached, it's dusty as fek, i have full set apart from front mud guard if you want for track day plastics, (they're mainly cable tie stitched up) they taking up room in my shed.

Side panels and Tail section here too in ok nick i think, i'll go dig them out now for you guys to have a look at
EDIT: just had a look at them, left side panel has a crack through it (re-broken plastic weld), sanded and spary painted over and the two rear knobs broken off, Right side panel appears in ok cosmetic cond with rear knobs broken off, but both have holes drilled for cable ties as i used them as track plastics, the tail section also has a few cable tie holes in it for the number boards but doesnt look too bad otherwise, i think i may still have the grab rail around aswell.

Some pics of the bottom fairing, it has the usual scuffs and stone chips you would expect, but the stickers are all still there and the crack has been plastic welded from the inside. I think the grill insert for it is around here some where too, which i'll chuck in aswell, it's painted white

found some more bits, Rear light unit, just the unit plus lenses, might have the wires around but can't find them, 'indicator' lenses in unit are red, only one screw to change them over from the standard Orange ones. could look cool...
also found under guard for the rear with some stalk blinkers on them. i think all models after 87 had the stalk indicators on the front, because i think my one which was the 87 was the last to have the moulded style front indicators.
Make me an offer if you keen, can combine shipping etc, you'll be doing me a favour making more room in my shed for the NSR250 Re-build :woohoo:

Mine is an '88 with the moulded front indicators.
Just had a look at my bottom fairing, it's all broken off on the bottom and the grill is a bit warped. Not to mention the fairing is cracked on one side in two places and a fist sized bit missing from the other!
I've got no idea what yours would be worth though..

Sounds like a deal!
I don't need the rear indicator assembly or the rear guard, if you don't have anything else floating around I'll just take that bit of fairing.

Since I was asking about it, it would be nice to get first bid at any pieces :-)
The main colour is black, and the top fairing (yes, 1 piece) will need to be completely replaced, which is why I was asking about shops/wreckers.
I do need the bottom "Ninja" one though. Must be suitable for roads though, not just tracks

Slyer has already purchased the Belly Fairing from what i have here, sorry but first in first served, The other pieces i have are suitable for track only sorry, was planning on throwing the rear integrated taillight indicator lenses into the box for Slyer to help clean up my shed, but if you need them make me an offer tonight, his stuff is going in the mail tomorrow morning

does anyone know the sizes of the standard front caliper pistons and what size master cylinder it should have?

I'll have a look in the manual once I get home.

thanks, the manual I have doesn't say sizes.
My problem is that my brakes have no obvious problems left to fix and I still have a soft lever with huge travel. My master cylinder has 1/2" stamped in the front it, would be an easy check if someone could please

My manual gives no sizes either, My gpx Brakes (apart from worn pads) always felt good except for when a piece of grit made its way into the brake line and would lock the brakes on hard if i merely touched the lever (this happened when i was on my way to dit my restricted test :pinch:)
i assume you've renewed the brake fluid, and sufficiently bled the lines? did you do this with the caliper/master cylinder on or off the bike?

Flick it to me if you like, I have a licensed version of acrobat, and could probably convert it to a more friendly file type.
Alternately, I could probably host it on my (slow) website
Was the size the issue with KB?

either size issue with KB or my internet being too slow, even though it's broadband... PM me your e-mail address and i'll try that way for you
