i think for a new attempt from norton, that it's quite good.it's good to see another brittish manufacturer in the mix.:niceone:

i particularly like the tank, seat, cowl styling.
i'm not totally sold on the open spacey look at the back, but it's hard to be judgemental, when A:they're newly back into it,and B:sometimes it's better to see bikes in the flesh, then looking at awkward angles in pictures.

i hope norton have the same success as triumph have.
i have a fondness of the modern brittish bikes, they cater for all styles of bikes, and riding styles, and that's where american bikes lose out.(unless you're into cruisers)

maybe harley should replace their leaving CEO with a pommie ;)

that's just my opinion.

I absolutely love this, ever since I first saw it in cycle World.

Kenny Dreer spent a lot of his own money to get it to the state of being near production ready. They also hand built 50 signature series of this (or a bike near this spec I dont recall exactly) and sold them all within a week or so.

I had my name on their mailing list, and was waiting for them to finalise pricing and availability/delivery. They asked me for a $500USD deposit which in hindsight I should have paid (I would have got a hat and sweatshirt at least). The money was going to be held in some escrow account so if they didnt deliver I would have got the money back. From memory the really desirable one would have worked out at then current exchange rates at about $18k NZD (plus shipping and delivery here). Issues I foresaw were parts/servising and backup but at the time I thought it was the nicest bike I had ever seen.

Kenny Dreer had a long career in restoration and upgrading Nortons and competition. Google VR 880 and Vintage REbuilds to get some of his work.

He is in the latest CW as well: at age 60 odd he is running sub 6 second quarters on some insane drag bike. Amazing.

Not sure what im supposed to be searching for man.

I was taking the piss out of his pathetic self righteous rant about the search function. I included a quote to illustrate my point (which was found doing a search).

I just dont see the point of dribbling on about a repost, when at least it was interesting and something I missed previously. More interesting to me than a fair whack of the stuff on here.

The first post was a bit fucking abstract granted, sarcasm is often lost on forums.

Apologies for the thread jack. It wont be continued by me, this is feeble enough in itself. Peace :2thumbsup

Have just been reading an article in Classic Bike mag and plans are to be selling this model in the English summer. They lookn at around 200 units this year and selling direct to UK customers and overseas dealers.
They also mention a road Rotary based on the race model but enlarged to 700cc and putting out 200bhp.Flights of fancy?? Triumph better hope so haha.

No pricing but CLASSic is never cheap.

I for one am all for this getting up and running..."bring it on"as current roadbikes bore me rigid, souless over teched over weight and over sold.

Know what you mean and my dream bike is a Norton Commando 850 with no oil leaks, great electrics, complete reliability, 80hp,........which is why I ride a modern duke.

The Norton project has been simmering along for many years and the only likely way it'll produce bikes is if someone like Richard Branson decides to invest just because they like bikes.

OK, so after Kenny Dreer's go round imploded, the new Norton people who owned the rotary rights also bought all the remaining IP from Kenny Dreer, and moved it back to Blighty

looking at stuff on youtube (airbag suits and helmets) this video was linked. Not sure "which" March issue is referenced but: looks right, sounds right, Ohlins front and rear: where do I sign?
