Nearly a year at Woodbourne (Blenheim Airport) in 1975, I took a few photos of some of the "visitors", and "residents", of the airport.
1. A couple of Air Force Bristol Frighteners, of which I logged a few hours flying time (Air supply/parachute dropping) to many locations. 40,000 rivets flying in loose formation was how we described them...
2. The "Army" Suix choppers made famous in MASH. I had a few rides...
3. The Argosy.
4. The Devon... with a close up of my finger...
5. The Sky Hawks were regular visitors for maintainence, this is the two seat model.
6. At the time it was one of the few DC3 Topdressers... STILL flying, many a lazy sunday arvo, at the end of the runway, watching them take off, land (an effort for them with a load on) and now and then...watch the drop their load... SPECTACULAR considering their age... even THEN.
