Seriously, look closely and see if you can tell how this ad is really not doing the client any favours.....
This is what happens when some ad exec with no knowledge of the product does the campaign. Kinda funny how no-one picked up on it until after it was published!
Brilliant.

Presumably, someone from H&K signed off the final proof as well... you'd certainly expect them to have more than a passing acquaintance with their product...

Advertising is a business of words, but advertising agencies are infested with men and women who cannot write. They cannot write advertisements, and they cannot write plans. They are helpless as deaf mutes on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103255.html)
Advertising reflects the mores of society, but it does not influence them.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103337.html)
Does advertising corrupt editors? Yes it does, but fewer editors than you may suppose... the vast majority of editors are incorruptible.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103222.html)
Every advertisement should be thought of as a contribution to the complex symbol which is the brand image.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103180.html)
First, make yourself a reputation for being a creative genius. Second, surround yourself with partners who are better than you are. Third, leave them to go get on with it.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv400764.html)
Good copy can't be written with tongue in cheek, written just for a living. You've got to believe in the product.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103273.html)
Hire people who are better than you are, then leave them to get on with it. Look for people who will aim for the remarkable, who will not settle for the routine.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv130697.html)
I do not regard advertising as entertainment or an art form, but as a medium of information.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103046.html)
I don't know the rules of grammar... If you're trying to persuade people to do something, or buy something, it seems to me you should use their language, the language they use every day, the language in which they think. We try to write in the vernacular.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103081.html)
I have a theory that the best ads come from personal experience. Some of the good ones I have done have really come out of the real experience of my life, and somehow this has come over as true and valid and persuasive.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv161497.html)
If it doesn't sell, it isn't creative.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103313.html)
If you ever have the good fortune to create a great advertising campaign, you will soon see another agency steal it. This is irritating, but don't let it worry you; nobody has ever built a brand by imitating somebody else's advertising.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103184.html)
In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative, original thinker unless you can also sell what you create.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103314.html)
It is flagrantly dishonest for an advertising agent to urge consumers to buy a product which he would not allow his own wife to buy.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103160.html)
It strikes me as bad manners for a magazine to accept one of my advertisements and then attack it editorially - like inviting a man to dinner then spitting in his eye.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103223.html)
It takes a big idea to attract the attention of consumers and get them to buy your product. Unless your advertising contains a big idea, it will pass like a ship in the night. I doubt if more than one campaign in a hundred contains a big idea.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv161506.html)
Leaders grasp nettles.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv117611.html)
Many manufacturers secretly question whether advertising really sells their product, but are vaguely afraid that their competitors might steal a march on them if they stopped.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103311.html)
Many people - and I think I am one of them - are more productive when they've had a little to drink. I find if I drink two or three brandies, I'm far better able to write.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103082.html)
Much of the messy advertising you see on television today is the product of committees. Committees can criticize advertisements, but they should never be allowed to create them.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103040.html)
Never stop testing, and your advertising will never stop improving.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv116502.html)
Never write an advertisement which you wouldn't want your family to read. You wouldn't tell lies to your own wife. Don't tell them to mine.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103873.html)
Ninety-nine percent of advertising doesn't sell much of anything.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103312.html)
On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103069.html)
Our business is infested with idiots who try to impress by using pretentious jargon.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv390038.html)
Political advertising ought to be stopped. It's the only really dishonest kind of advertising that's left. It's totally dishonest.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103234.html)
Some manufacturers illustrate their advertisements with abstract paintings. I would only do this if I wished to conceal from the reader what I was advertising.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103018.html)
The advertisers who believe in the selling power of jingles have never had to sell anything.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103195.html)
The best ideas come as jokes. Make your thinking as funny as possible.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv133098.html)
The consumer isn't a moron; she is your wife.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103054.html)
The headline is the 'ticket on the meat.' Use it to flag down readers who are prospects for the kind of product you are advertising.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103068.html)
The more informative your advertising, the more persuasive it will be.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103230.html)
The most important word in the vocabulary of advertising is TEST. If you pretest your product with consumers, and pretest your advertising, you will do well in the marketplace.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103291.html)
The pursuit of excellence is less profitable than the pursuit of bigness, but it can be more satisfying.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv387079.html)
The secret of long life is double careers. One to about age sixty, then another for the next thirty years.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv159393.html)
There are very few men of genius in advertising agencies. But we need all we can find. Almost without exception they are disagreeable. Don't destroy them. They lay golden eggs.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103254.html)
There is no need for advertisements to look like advertisements. If you make them look like editorial pages, you will attract about 50 per cent more readers.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103349.html)
What really decides consumers to buy or not to buy is the content of your advertising, not its form.
David Ogilvy (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/d/davidogilv103067.html)
What you say in advertising is more important than how you say it.
