Well Im a happy camper, bike is all set up really great now after spending shitloads of hours on it getting the geometry and suspension settings bang on, big improvement here as well as some brake work and tyre changes (continental Race attacks street) I am pleased to say the bike is mint!!

Qualifying, the weather was good overcast but not raining, I was a bit unsure of the new rubber and the change in setup but hit the first two warm up laps (4 laps to qualify) a bit hessitant, but got into a groove (not a fast one) and ended up qualifying 13, surprise surprise, same as last round at the VMCC !

all in all happy

Race 1

I was against pit wall and didnt have the holeshot side leading into the turn one (this is on the little special motard track cutting through the infield going the wrong direction) flag dropped and I bullied my way into about 10th spot, turn two (going back onto the main track from the small infieild track used for waiting) two riders collided infront of me (why does this always happen to me) I got out of the way just but lost my line and ended up way wide, but I was in the "zone" and pushed really hard gaining ground very fast on the corners, I found the infield section was good for me to gain ground on, top speed on the straights still lacking but overall I was going well, I finished in 6th spot in S1 the class( yes a record for me)

Race 2

Well it eventually rained, not hard but the track was wet, I elected to keep the Conti Race Attack Streets on as opposed to the wets to see how they went in the rain, apparently they are good in the wet, unfortunetly I found them very wanting at race pace and this showed in my racing, I was sliding and slipping all over the place and had a few "moments" but went as hard as I could finishing again in 6th spot in S1.

After the two races in the first round I am happy to be 5th on points in the tri series, I am expecting to get put back a bit with the wanganui rounds as some of the top riders like summers Briggs and the american number 4 (apparently) Darryl Atkins turn up but for now I will relish in my moment of glory (hey 5th is a personal best for me).

I have to say thanks to my sponsors

Qmoto (Read Paula)for my swanky new leathers ( photos up soon)
Mobil 1 oils, for the best bike oil on the planet
Knox for the Armour (cheers guys)

Now Bring on Wanganui :shit:

Well done mate. If Briggs et al aren't entered in the whole tri series, then you should have a good shot at holding onto your placing, or improving ?

Yeah I hope so, that would be great, remember this is S1 so above 450cc class. Briggs actually is on a 450 so his results wont effect mine, but the American guy is on a Aprillia 550 apparently so he will knock me back
but no matter Im just happy with the result
