New tyres, good and quick service, bike that steers nicely again.

Between Wellington Motorcycle's cheap Sportec M1s and TSS' excellent service, Christmas looks like it's going to be fun.

Bike shops are only as good as you treat them.

So there, worst bike shops thread.

Shite.

That reminds me, My bike was booked in for new tires a couple days ago.

Bike shop won't be happy.

Still, In my defence I did drink large quantities of alcohol.

Same same.

Except there's a decidedly non-cheap PP on the back.

Here comes the sun...

Nice to see a positive quote regarding bike shops on here!
That thought (Bike shops are only as good as you treat them.) goes through my head every time I read one of those worst shops/importers/products threads....I know sometimes service is just crap full stop, but...some people do tend to bring things on themselves sometimes.
Enjoy the new ride over the holidays and stay safe everyone! :)

:wari: Yeah baby. I got the mean deal on a Diablo Rosso front for the Ape from Richards M/C in J'Ville. Three cheers and bohemian nubiles all around for the good guys.

Be intersting to hear your feedback Cliv. I've got 207rr's on mine and it stears like a dog compared to other Tuono's I've ridden.

You might want to try a little more weight on the front FJ.

Hang on.....

Only if you replace the headlight with a basket and put some streamers on and get some playing cards for the spokes.

was in the shop a few weeks ago gettin shod with BT016's, good reputation and kept me rubber side down and exceptionally confidence inspiring, the way my wife feels about them pads with wings... I digress... at the same time strop one and strop 2 walked in and although it was all smiles in the workshop, fookin MEEEEEEEOOOOOOWWWWWW when they left, voodoo dolls, headless chickens and much pissin in the tank went on at the close of play that day I have noooooo doubt??? When they did warranty work for me a year or so ago, it took them a lot of time and energy for shite warranty payment from Aprilia... i took 'em a case of beer precariously balanced on the tank of the CB1300 loaner...

HURRAH!!! for the good guys...

The Tuonos seem to be murder to set up for front end feel. I had 207rrs on mine, crashed and got rid of them. I've never got on with Dunlop road tyres though. They seem to take too long to heat up and get too unstable at speed or hard acceleration. I need to review the set-up on my Ape but had it out at Manfield tuesday last week. The Rosso felt bloody great. Even though I wasn't get enough feedback to confidently push it, I was getting the knee down on some of the right handers. It felt really wrong too, while sitting behind those moto-x bars. I've backed off the preload a bit on bothe ends and raised the rear ride height to help the steering. I'd like to refine that and work on the rebound settings. Maybe we should have a Tuono suspension set-up clinic in the new-year? I'm very keen to make the best of what I have and am convinced that there is better handling to be had. Yours should be handling like a scalpel mate.

Yeah, but jim2's right. Too much weight on the arse end. Funny thing is the demo I rode from TSS about a year ago was superb, and I mean absofuckinglutely amazing. I'm not too happy with mine, may have to get rob to look at them when I'm feeling more fiscal.

I too get a lot of rear tyre squirm under accelleration. I put it down to not enough compression damping in the rear through, as I've upped the spring rate and the rebound to no effect.

I also find it tough to turn in past a certain point and hard work to maintain lean. Maybe I just need some more time on the tukas and out the back of Martinborough to get used to those bars.

Things being tight though I can't afford to prematurly replace reasonable rubber. Not had too many moments, just a little bit of the rear letting go under power, but nothing too alarming.
