Thanks to the random guy who was trying to have a picnic with his kids on the beach, and ended up helping us load a bike into a truck.

My Bro-In-Law and I were trying to load a GN250 up a ramp into a (borrowed) small truck. We obviously  didn't know what we were doing, so this guy came over and offered to help. He said he has a Ducati and a dirt bike at home and has loaded bikes onto trailers often. He was really good at it and definitely saved us dropping a bike on our toes!

Anyway we got the GN250 home safely and it's about to become an engine-donor for my Volty. :soon:

Thanks Mr Picnic Guy.

Thats a great story.....I guess most of us would try and help another biker if we could.

I think I only know one KBer in Snells Beach but doesnt ride a Ducati.

Who is the one that is going to have a laugh about this sentence first?

Of course he is a helpful guy as all Ducati owners are like that. Dont even have to ask them for help they just get it there and help whoever, wherever, whenever.

Have to say this (http://www.ratemymotivational.com/motivationals/13709-DUCATI-Making_mechanics_out_of_rides_since_1946.jpg) was the first thing to cross my mind...

So, klingon, will you have the engine transplant done by tomorrow?

He is probably quite used to Trailering the Duke as something is constantly falling off.

Are you suggesting, Ducati and/or dirt bike riders are more "experienced" at transporting their rides... than other motorcyclists... ??? :chase:

There may be 57 reasons why bike are better than men (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=88610&highlight=reasons) but it don't mean shit if you haven't got a man to get your bike for you.

'tis all about paying forward the good karma to the biker gods.

Now it's your turn.

No, I will spend today recruiting people to do the dirty work. See you soon for that coffee! :innocent:

Oh-oh. So the next person I see struggling with a bike I have to go and help them... actually I think it would be more of a favour if I didn't help them...

Good luck with getting the engine swapped over.
Must be killing you to be off the bike for so long

Awesome! Volty-time!

So did you just see it on the side of the road and smash the disc lock off? Or have you been planning the snatch for a while?

Next time just drop the engine out on the side of the road, that'll confuse 'em.

Yeah I'm definitely suffering from Cabin Fever. I've started wishing for rainy days so I won't miss riding quite so much. (Sorry everyone, I think I may be to blame for this weather.)

Yeah I wondered later whether the Helpful Man thought it was even a tiny bit suspicious that we were loading a bike into a white, unmarked truck. Perhaps the real reason for his helpfulness is so he could get a close look at us and report our suspicious behaviour to the polices. :eek5:

Never mind, we bought his silence with a box of fruit juice. That should shut him up.
