Boxing Day petrol stations - West Coast SI

before i get on the phone and start ringing - has anyone had past experience of the liklihood of petrol stations over arthurs pass and down through the haast pass being open on boxing day

got stuck a few years ago at arthurs pass on christmas day so will ring a few of the places along the way unless anyone knows for sure

I would think most would be open as many people travel on Boxing Day

Hokitika, Franz Joseph, and Fox Glacier will all be open. Haast and Makarora should be open but I can't be 100% sure. Hawea and Wanaka will be open.

Unless you have a very short fuel range, Fox to Hawea is only 240 km.

Makarora will be open for Boxing day, I just had that confirmed - one of the petrol stations (cafe) there only has 91, not sure about the other.
