Happy Birthday, vifferman! Do you get separate birthday/Christmas presents, or do you have to settle for a combination Christmas & birthday gift?

I'm not really 100 (close though...)
The vifferbabe started the day by telling me off, because I had a shit night's sleep, due to serious toothache, so I wasn't happy when I woke up. At 12:05am, and at 5am...
Happy Birthday Viff...my god you were almost Jesus! Fa La La La Laaaaa.
Happy Birthday VMAN, almost the same Birthday as baby Jebus. Have a bloody startling one Ian. :wari::wari:
In fact, historical and other data suggests that Jesus was probably born in October. The December thing is just a transmogrification of the pagan Yuletide / Winter Solstice celebrations.
But you knew that...
Do you get separate birthday/Christmas presents, or do you have to settle for a combination Christmas & birthday gift?
Sometimes separate, sometimes combined, and (lately) pretty much none.
This time I got a rude t-shirt from #1Son, emphasising my oldness, and a trial microlight flight voucher from the vifferbabe.
Happy birthday Vifferman
So the party starts this morning and goes until midnight tomorrow????
Heh - that'd be fun! No parties for me. The vifferbabe did ask if I wanted a big...uh... demicentennial... celebration... but I couldn't be bothered. Besides, it'd be no fun with just me, her, and #1 Son (the other two are buggering off to a BBQ this afternoon), and I don't exactly have bazillions of friends. Surprising, huh?
No, I'm at work now, then tomorrow'll be rather hectic, as we have to conjure up Christmas dinner before rushing off to the airport to fly to San Francisco.

That sounds almost Eggs Zachary like the t-shirt #1 Son had printed - did you put him up to it?
Union Square, Macey's, Cheesecake Factory, Gumbo. :niceone:
Ahh! That reminds me - last time we went to SF (two years ago yesterday!), there was a guy on the Mrkn VFR forum who worked in the Cheescake Factory who said to visit him. Wunner if he still works there....
This time we're gunna do all the things we forgot or didn't know about last time: Knob Hill, Chinatown (only skirted the edge of it last time, but our hotel is next to the gates), MOMA, Golden Gate Park (we were right next to it, and didn't know it was there!!), mebbe Alcatraz, and mebbe some festive... nocturnal activity :wari: ... (difficult when sharing a room with one of the troglodytes every night).

Have a great day Monsieur Viff.
Thanks Brett. In this case, the birthday cake is doubling as a birthday cake (taking any leftovers home, since the fambily didn't bother with one),
Heh... #1 Son wanted me to buy the Frankensteinian Meatcreation they made at work for Xmas: the Turducken.
They boned a turkey, stuffed it with cranberry stuffing and a boned duck, which they stuffed with chestnut and summat stuffing and a boned chicken, which they stuffed with sage and onion stuffing (no quails left in stock).
They dreamed up the ultimate extension of this, which involved a lamb, goat, pig, cow, camel, hippo, and elephant, which were mostly not in stock.
So, they refined their Turducken in when they sold the other one, and left the turkey's wings and drumsticks on, then the duck's head and neck, which they then stuck out of the turkey's sutured-up neck hole for a bizarre appearance.:done:

Aye, Merry Birthday and Happy Christmas Ian.
I take it #1 son didn't bake the cake. It looks delicious and positively normal . (Unlike that pseudo-chimeric meat creation)

Durr.... Um.. Thanx Tom.
I think I may have cocked up here. When I signed up, I put the oldest date I could - 1908. I'm not really a centenarian. If you peruse the thread, you'll find a clue to my real age...

(I can't be bothered starting a new thread so here's some news of our travels in this one..)
San Francisco is OK, but we missed our second Christmas Day (left Christmas Day at 19:30, arrived Christmas Day at 10:30am) because the vifferbabe was dreadfully ill. Spent all Second Christmas Day in bed sleeping, then got up lateish on the 26th.
Dunno what day it is now (Saturday?) but we walked down to the Farmer's Market (one of many) at the Ferry Building (Pier 1), then walked all around the shoreline on the Embarcadero, past all the various piers, to Fishermans Wharf (Pier 39), had crab cakes and chips, walked on up to Pier 47, then walked up Columbus then through Grant Street (Chinatown), to our hotel which is right at the Chinatown Gate).
Here's a photo to keep this post on bikes, taken near Pier 15:

No, that was in September. We're in San Francisco now. Please try to keep up.

Yeah, then she got sick again (different ailment) last night when we went out to a very nice (and bit pricey) restaurant. Apparently two-thirds of the Mutant Spawn are also sick with flu. I'm glad they're 27 bazillion miles away...
