View Full Version : Argh, anyone know, or able to do some custom metalwork prior to New Year?

The Katoom is in the shop being serviced etc and one of the jobs was to fit some givi pannier racks, but custom work was involved to mount them (givi pl tubing racks)

They have rung and said they need some metalwork done in order to fit them, and being that the shops are closed for the period... no chance. Being that I leave on New Years day for 13 days to the SI... this places me in just a slight bind. :shit:

Apparently they have drawn up whats needed, and it requires 25mm steel bar, 8mm holes or something like that (I'll get the drawing later today). Question is, does anyone know who might be open (may as well piss into the wind I think, more successful), or can anyone do it? Paid job obviously.

OK, diagram is attached to this post, it should be pretty easy for someone to machine I would imagine (as opposed to myself, who has no idea).

25mm round aluminium bar, with a 8.5mm hole drilled through the middle. 4 pieces, 2 different lengths. If the edges could be smoothed off, that would be nice, but not necessary.

It will be used to make the pannier rack sit out from the side of the bike.

Mucho appreciated if someone could do this, I'll probably collect to speed things up (pref auckland area, as postage time would be unknown - or nearby, I'll ride out).

Worst case: Buy a bag of 8mm penny washers and stack 'em accordingly.

Call here on the way down and I'll have the alloy bits ready to swap.

Luck, PM me if it gets that far.
