Ye the amazing thing I find is that was back in the 50's when you would imagine things would have been a bit more conservative.
Like even seeing something of that scale done so smoothly and on that scale these days would be a great and spectacular achievement

I remember seeing such synchronised motorcycling exhibitions when I was young, though not on as large a scale as that. The police and army used to do them (MoT I guess).

Motorcycles were used a lot in exhibitions then, Wall of Death, jumping through flames , synchronised riding, 'tower' effects all that sort of thing, you'll never see anything like that nowadays.

Dunno why people would think that motorcycling was more conservative in the 50s. Motorcycling now is *far* more conservative and pro-establishment than it was then.

Ye I suppose now that I think about it that choice of word was not the best.
Like when I think about it how many government organisations nowadays would even consider putting on something like that so fair play to them in the 50's and its great that someone was there to capture the footage:2thumbsup

So we are back to low centre of gravity again eh?

Given the excessive amount of skill available on this site - I'm sure the KB members could put on a far better display than some Eyeties in the '50's!

Should be a piece of piss to the stunters. I'm sure that Carver and associates could do all that at 300kph. Sitting backwards.

In McJim's thread with the same video a little while ago (yes, it is a dupe) somebody said they were Ducati 250 singles.

My understanding is that Ducati didn't make a 250 until the 1960s - well after the video period. Could be wrong, I'm no Ducati anorak. But those machines look larger than 250s and I don't see the cops riding 250s really.
