hi im looking at getting a 4 stroke trail bike in the near future. i weigh around 85 kilos and am around 6 foot 4. dont want a 2 stroke

i was looking at late 90's suzuki dr 350s. any comments on these bikes? not looking for a race machine. just as long as it has a bit of grunt and is reliable

what about the suzuki drz400? these seem to be quite cheap aswell. not to keen on the idea of water cooling however

i have a price range of about 4grand at the most. any other bike reccomenations?

both great bike's, the 350 should go for ever(kit it out to 380 for a little extra grunt).
even an XR400 could be worth a look at.

shit if i had the spare coin i would by it, looks very tidy- i would be interested in how many hours she's done, if she's as good as she looks it be a very good price for the buyer.

Just keep an eye out for rust in the lower rear subframe have been told they are bad for it and had a mate who had to swap over frames due to this prob.

will a mid 90s xr250 have enough grunt to move an 85 kilo guy? seems you can pick one of these up for cheap but im a bit worried if they have enough grunt

my lawnmower has more power than a mid "90's xr250......they super reliable but they just arnt going to get you around too fast.....

Just brought a 98 DR350 kitted out to 385 with head work and hot cam, with big carby, airbox, and muffler etc.
Took it down the road before, first time ride.......woooooohhh.
Makes the SP370 I got feel like a 125.
But I'm 5'7 and I think I'll have to drop it a bit to feel a bit more comfy.

wow... you need to ride a modern 450... to the OP i'd say forget the 350 and the older XR's the DRZ400 is fukken bullet proof.. the parts are CHEAP and superbly availiable cos the bike has hardly changed since the first ones in 99-00. Water cooling is..... cool?..... why you not like? only thing i'd say in the neg of them is they are large and rather cumbersum

just like the idea of an oldschool aircooled engine. im definately set on a dr350 or drz 400 . think i might do a bit more saving tho and buy a real decent one.

Go for the DRZ !! I'm same height and just a few kilos lighter than you and love my DRZ, more than enough power and she just keeps going and going. It's eight years old and have not had a single problem with it...as kezzahfish said "fukken bullet proof"!!!
