while this may very well be helpful to some people...it sends me into a panic of worry for the friends and family that I know are riding in that area today.

Cool. Let's see if motorcyclists can make 50% of the road fatalities this weekend too..!
You have a wicked black sense of humour... Let's hope there are NO fatalities there. I've long given up on riding that road at anything but a very sedate pace. There's always some dips!*t cager in his wrx on my side of the road, thinking he's Peter effing Solberg.

Doesn't matter whose fault it is. You either get yourself home unscathed or not.

copied from "Wellington - The Thursday Night (Summer) Rides" thread.
I am not sure if I am posting it at the right place, but I know that Henry goes out on most Thursday nights to ride. To those who know Henry (Triumph Daytona 675), he has had an accident earlier today - @ Paekakariki whilst out with Steve. He is in the Wellington Hospital ICU and is suffering from serious injuries. He appears to be stable now - but he is very unwell.
Henry's told me all about the fun rides so I know some of you guys - although just through names. I am Henry's partner - should you wish to pass on any message - contact me. Edna Phillips 027 687 2969. I know I will be beside Henry's bed for the next few days .. or however long it takes.

Sorry I didnt realise that was his user name as well. Phoenix and I use to be from Wellington and Phoenix is one of the founding members of the Wed rides so was trying to establish if we know him.
But regardless of whether we know him or not, we wish him all the best on his recovery and will be thinking of him and his family

Thanks for spotting that post from Henry's Partner Rocket.
I sent pms to some local KBers that I thought knew Henry.
I was aware yesterday as I lent Steve the bike he was riding. Steve is not a KB, but well known to most Wgtn riders.
This just shocked me as Steve is a very skilled and experienced Rider. I've had a fair few rides with Henry and was impressed with his sensible atttitude to riding. I was looking forward to going to the Triday with Henry. How a split second can wreck peoples lives.
My thoughts have been filled all night with concern for Henry. May the op bring good news.
