Suzuki FXR150 for sale.

As many of you guys know, my bike is not in a show room condition. I will try to be very honest to the buyer.

The bike is not in a very good condition. It will need more maintenance in the future. However, I bought the bike from a poorly maintained previous owner and while I had this bike many things needed to be replaced e.g. Engine Oil, Sprockets, Airfilter, Tyres, Chains and break pads. Since those accessories are almost brand new, the bike doesn't seems to have any major problem now.

Here are some problems that the bike currently has (Direct quote from my FXR Review Thread).

OK, my bike is next to a rolling junk. It is indeed not in a mint condition however it does it’s job (which is going from A to B) pretty damn well. Here is a list of things that are distorted.

Current Problems:

• Yet still the break fluid needs to be changed.

• The current bike has a Honda CB250RS Carburettors, but I don't think it's damaging the bike. However because the bike has a carb from a 250cc bike, sometimes it makes it difficult to start the bike when the engine is really cold.

• The electric start doesn't work. Only kick start.

• The bike has a few scratched/ cracked fairings. Temporary they are mended with tapes however it is fixable.

• Some nuts and bolts are missing all around the bike (4 pieces missing and counting…)

• Two totally different mirrors. Especially the right mirror is next to nothing. I'd rather turn my head to see the rear.

• Half of the headlight doesn’t work. One new bulb required.

• Right foot peg bracket is cracked.

• Leaking carburettor.

• Has 1 more scratch than R6_Kid’s GSXR.

However despite the negatives, it goes well. I even got the WOF with that above status. When I was doing the Wellington Tour, I really thought my bike would brake down (So I packed many tools and got the AA Plus membership) but the bike didn’t fail on me.

Fork seal was leaking and was getting onto the front brakes however it was fixed yesteurday. For the buyer, I will provide a free set of brake discs. Ah note, only one fork seal (the leaking one) was replaced yesteurday.

The bike will come with a fresh new 6 months rego. WOF is till May.

It is ideal for a bucket bike. I don't really recommend this to a learner since the bike will need further careful mantenance in the future.

Read more here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=83758), A review of my FXR150 I posted up previously.

Will upload more detailed photos later.

$1000 cash and it's all yours. The bike must go.

Ph: 021-0265-4015 or PM me for further details or questions.

That's probably a little generous -- I think free brake pads is something you can afford a little better!

Detailed photos of the bike. Just a few scratches.

I went to Cape Reinga and Wellington and back with this condition, what more proof can there be that this bike is mechanically fine?

Bike must sell.

Laugh as much as you want BITCH! This is gonna be my bucket racer/commuter while I keep saving for my "big girls bike". Its gonna be alot cheaper than the friggen train so I can still race street stock as well. I plan to just nylon and sticker up the bike so I can ride to the bucket races and race then ride it home again. All quite simple really.

Fingers crossed that it will be more reliable than my RG on the road! ;)

Wow, so ya sold the FXR aye! And though always a biker/tourer in spirit you'll no longer be a biker in reality for a while!
I should'a bought it for spare parts for my bike! Nah, not really though, I think I'll be upgrading in a few months, so hopefully won't need any spare parts in the mean time anyway.
I predict you'll miss biking so much you'll get another bike in the South Island before too long... We shall see...

All right, if you're going bucketing, here's what you need to know. The CB250RS carb is slightly rich with the pod filter on. I'd take the filter off and run it open, jetting should be just about perfect (you may want to experiment with needle height). You'll find it'll choke if you snap open the throttle like you would with a CV carb bike -- either connect up the accelerator pumper (just a spring) on a fairly low setting (but lean off the jetting/needle height), or leave it disconnected and learn to be smooth with the throttle.

With the bigger carb it revs like a mofo, it wants to go past redline, but (probably a good thing) hits the rev limiter in the CDI.

There's a hell of lot of useless weight on that bike. I'd bin all the plastic fairing crap, tailpiece, dash etc. It's not like you're pulling 100mph and need the aerodynamics (scoff!).

Cheers for the advice mate. Im gonna replace the carb with a "proper" one. I will be leaving all the "crap" on it really only cause I want to have a road bike more so than just a bucket racer for a year or two. Once I dont need it as a commuter then I will strip it down completely and destroy it! :devil2:
