Today out trail riding i thought to myself fuck i'm a fat prick now. sitting down like a po po because i'm puffed .
and i think the main culprit is the piss i drink while working on my bike and the kids bikes.
i have a sexy little beer fridge that looks so inviting when it has beers in it.
but you know what, i really do love havin a few while i work on the bikes.
are you guys or girls the same?
i'm always out in the shed doin something to the bikes and normally have a cold beer close by.
i got tits bigger than the whips ones , a guts that makes me look pregnant and the fitness of a wet fart.
so i decided this arvo that i'll cut back some on the beer and start a bit of fitness happening.
i gave up rugby last year so fitness went out the door.
do any of you lot have a fitness regime going for riding besides just riding?
and do you drink when you workin on the bikes?

Yeah, I often pop one when cleaning the bike in the evening. :niceone:
You could maybe consider the low carb beers on the market - no doubt invented by some pole-smoking Aucklander but they have less carbs.

Ive found getting a new Mrs helps with the fitness thing, means you dont have to cut back on the intake either.

I'm at the gym five days a week. Weights only so I'm just as unfit as you are.
How about substituting your high carb beers for some low ones. Same amount of alcohol but no calories? (put's on flame retardant suit)
Any MX tracks close by? Doing a good thirty laps will get the heart pumping.

I had to give up pretty much everything I liked to eat and drink back in June, wish I had simply cut back to a reasonable level earlier. I was too dumb to see the damage I was doing. For me it was too much icecream/cheese/red meat (never been a big drinker) and not enough exercise. Now I have to be a " nearly" vegan.. :(
There is a plus side tho, I was 87kg and am now 68, have much more energy and am slowly getting into a shape which less resembles a circle..... My advice, for what it's worth, is enjoy the good things until about 40, then start tapering off...... NEVER stop with the exercise..... Rant over......

I have put on a bit more after eating to much christmas cake..... have some here for morning tea:pinch:. Now i have to get back in to shape.
I am starting to puff which is a bad sign. On to the old exercize machine again and cut back on the amount of food i am pigging out on.
Just cut back on the portions you eat..... That realy helps and go for brisk walks. That said WHY am I not doing it.........

yeah it was purangi.
best trail ride i've been on i reckon.
track was bulldozed not long ago by the looks of it and it had great grip even if those hills were papary you could find some loose stuff and find traction in it.
bit of a poor turnout i thought

I got a (moto? :p) cross-trainer off trademe a little while ago. It's great cause I can do it in front of the tv in the evenings, no excuses like with my bicycle, too hot/cold/rainy/windy/dark (really I just don't want to be associated with those spandex weirdos ) try and do about 10k a night on it... Haven't seen much of it over the christmas break :o. Got back into it tonight, feels good! My fitness has def. improved since I've had it.
Not giving up the beers though, not over summer! :sunny:

Yeah another bourbon and coke boy here. I'm not getting fat but i don't think all the sugary-alcoholic-acid is doing my stomach lining any good cos it makes me feel a bit sick now. gonna change to tequila, that's the easy bit. ciggarettes are fukken hard to kick oooooh i love them so

I think that you will be putting on heaps of weight if you have a beer everytime you fix your bike. Especially if you own a Suzuki...... LOL You just wouldn't stop drinking!!!!!

Its all cardio my man you can pump weights if you wanna impress the ladies ; whatever you do don't cutdown your intake! find a sport that yo enjoy and is not perhaps so intense as just running, like tennis or something
you may even find as you drop kilos you become a cheaper date too....... to do with thinning the blood and increased circulation. drink water when not swilling lager! fucking heaps of it.

Muscle mass plays a huge factor in the amount of calories you burn. So don't just focus on cardio.

if anyones keen to lose weight quickly, what i did worked mint.
stop eating shit food, drink only water, go for a walk up a decent sized steep hill every day, running as far as your fitness will allow, then run back down. make your dinner smaller.
lost 19kg in 12 weeks doing that.
also won a bunch of money in the competition i was competing in
then stopped and put half of it back on....
back to it!

Yep I get the feeling every now and again that I should go do some exercise, so I just put an old areobics OZ style tape in the VCR, pop the top of a beer and lie back on the couch for an hour, excersize is good I can watch it for hours.
