What a fantastic meeting. The meeting was well organised with very few interruptions during the day and all with what seemed like a record number (240+ mentioned) of entries and whats more they even mangaed to organise some good weather. No small feat in itself. . I'll be going back next year.

Very well done.:woohoo:

I believe the TRI SERIES people have started the future for NZ racing.

My total thanks and respect for what they have started

The event was basically PAID for out of one man/womens Pocket, and I am very very sure those people have lost at least $10K to help run this event.

They fed all the track staff and the riders and crew, they even put on the free beers for those who wanted it.

Yes this money could have gone on other flasher things, but it is only the start of things to come, and the organisers wanted it to be a fun meeting, and it really was.

Thanks to all the corner workers.

Too true! They were there for the riders anyway and did everything to keep everyone happy :innocent:

They put on a huge feed after the practice day and free drinks! Im stoked i turned up it was the most enjoyable event ive been to. Shame it ended in a cast and a broken bike, the 2 reasons i wasnt gonna ride.... :bye:

It was fantastic forma marshals point of view to, i loved it. The raceing was good as specially in the 600s and super bikes (bummer for the jappenese dude tho) and i loved the sidecars (as i would). We all did quite well in the hospital stakes, only needing to take the ambo on the track once at the end of the day.

All i happy and i cant wait for next year :)

Nope, i ended up pushing his superbike back to the pits for him with his photo man taking pics lol nice bike to push tho. He did bent the rear brake tho which stoped him re entering the race. Cant be easey to go from what would have been winter there to mid summer here...

i broke my humerous bone (it wasnt funny) a few years ago at taupo mx, they sent me home to tauranga with a few pain killers, got there and had to go straight into surgery!!

This time it was just a dislocated wrist but still needed to go to surgery in tauranga, hayden and i touched in the first corner and we both crashed

next time can you crash closer to a marshalling point so we don't have to run from turn 1, or even better don't crash at all. hope you heal up fast.

Well for our first time competing at a race meet we had to most awesome experience. We learned a massive amount about how it all works, and what to do. The help and advice given by many far more experienced and seasoned racers was invaluable, and added to a great overall experience. Bring on next year. This is one event that should be supported.
Shame the Endurance race was wet, but there were still some very gutsy riders who went out there and made that event happen despite the rain.

Bloody shame I'd love to sit down and re-live it all again. :weep:

No way dude!!
I have already spent alot of money on the camera crews. It was only organised at the 11th hour, so SKY TV won't even know at this stage whether or not it was filmed. But believe me, it will be televised!!

Congratulations to both Andy and Chris and all of the others who helped run such an Amazing event. You guys seem to just get better and better and putting on and running such a memorable and well relaxed event that is totally enjoyed not only by the racers themselves but also by the spectators who attend. The weather was fantastic the food on Saturday night was enjoyable and the tropheys were outstanding. Look forward to the 2009 Road Race Spectacular and good luck to all of the sidecar association in your up and coming events for next year. Well done Guys You Rock.:2thumbsup

Hi Scrivy, thanks for neat event. Due to being a complete wombat I had same number on both my F4 & F5 bike (only a problem when separating by class, but hey - at least they were very clearly marked) so although I came in 2nd in F4 on sunday I was on my liddle 50 so should be in F5 not F4 results. I got the 1st trophy for F5 so no drama.

I'll try use my brain next year & mark different numbers.

I will need PMs from the junior class riders if they want to do it this year. I will need to see if it's still a goer or not from them. I hope it is.....

As for the wet - yeah, we too were nervous about so much water, but the 2 MNZ stewards told us to continue, and we were keeping a very close eye on the happenings. Like I said before, there were less crashes in the wet race than from the previous dry days racing!! That is a credit to all the riders/teams in the endurance race. Fancy all riders receiving a finishers mug too!!

Yes it was wet but nothing like when Manfield was under water (VMCC R4). Even though it was a race, a lot of teams were using Wets and those that didn't just rode a lot more carefully and smoothly.

Its only when you get horizontal rain before you need to worry:gob:
