Hi Guys and Girls

I've got to ship a bike to the South island from the North and it wont fit in the post office box. Has anyone used a carrier to transport a bike before that they would recommend or know of one which would ship a bike??

Thanks

PBT has been proved as a no-go (big time).

google (or yellowpages) bike shipping and go with a dedicated BIKE shipping company.

Most others while they *may* it for you - odds are that they are not setup to move bikes or know how to strap them down etc.

Its summer and nice weather - you could always disco dan it and fly down ride it back?

biketranz or cyclemovers are the main bike shippers, if ya do a search on here

Bike tranz all the way dude, I recommend them!
They are the best and know what they are doing, trucks specially set out for bikes!
I've recently used them to get a Ducati down from AKL to CHC... the wait was the hardest bit!
Trust them they really are a great crew. :2thumbsup:

Another vote for Bike Tranz here! Quick, efficient, reasonably priced, and definitely know what they're doing.

My partner got Bike Tranz to deliver a scooter from Wellington to Auckland last year about this time. The bloke who delivered it to our door almost fell over laughing when my partner (who has been riding bikes for decades) started the scooter and gave it a quick twist of the throttle to hear it rev. Forgot it was automatic...

Anyway Bike Tranz delivered it without a scratch. What happened to it after that is the sole responsibility of the owner...

Opps mispelled that it is Captain Transporter

I used them to bring a scooter from Levin to Auckland about 10 days ago
arrived in good condition on the right day etc.

Phone or Text Tony on 027 2777 277 if you like tell him Lee sent you.

They have the special frames etc for tying down on the truck.

Ya have to ring/email them for a quote, i used them 3 weeks ago to move the dr from dunedin to auckland, cost was a bit over 500 and it arrived the day before christmas. Very easy to get ahold of them and they were helpful & rang back when they said they would. Some'll say expensive but its a pretty good price, when i used them 2 years back it was ~450 chch to auckland

Have also sent a bike with a moving company before, that worked fine as the bike was loaded last and i oversaw the tying down.
