Anyone out there got a ZX9R Ninja for sale?
Looking for a 98 (C1 model) or newer.
May also consider a tidy RF900/YZF1000 etc with low kms
Cheers.

Hi,
I have a budget of 6-7K.
What am I looking for in a bike... I do around 50kms a day and mainly use a bike for it. I should probably get a sports tourer type thing but would still like something with a little more sporty for the weekends etc. For a while I was thinking of a thou but really my budget doesn't stretch that far and it isn't that practicle for me - just dreaming.
Being 6" and 95kg I have always found the 600cc bikes feel a bit cramped after a while so I have ruled them out.
A mate has a ZX9R and he loves it. It feels alot more comfortable than a 600 and is a bit more sporty than a RF900 etc. It still has a shitload of power without being as nuts as a thou and seems to handle pretty well. Best of all, it falls within my budget so I thought I would head down that road.
What do you think of your one? Would you recommend them to others? Any major issues or things to look out for etc?
Cheers

I have had the 9 a while now and when I saw your ad I had a thought that I might offer it for sale and then I rode to work and the whole idea of selling it went out the window.
I love the 9. Put it on the track and its short comings of very average brakes and 10 yr old technology sticks out like dogs balls but on the road it does a fantastic job. I often laugh at those who boast about outright speed and horsepower on big bikes considering the guys on the 125s can get round manfield faster than I can and I have no doubt that if I went out and got a 200HP superbike the same would be true.
As a road bike my 9 will have its 120,000km service next week and still pulls like a schoolboy. I love the styling of the fairings even though mine are in need of a respray due to stone chips and scratches but I didnt buy the bike to leave it in the garage. I cant think of a single thing I dont like about my bike. I have ridden plenty of other bikes and swapped bikes with various people of the years and without rubbishing anyone elses bike it is always good to get back on the 9. It just fits nicely with everything I want from a bike.
A couple of months ago I did the 4 points rally on it. Covered 2600km in a weekend and had times over the weekend where my arse was feeling a little sore but overall it was a very comfortable ride. Highly recommend the ZX9r and hope you find one.

Thanks for your reply. Hopefully I may have tracked one down but we are still nutting out the finer points.
But just in case it doesn't work out, I'm still keen if anyone else has one sitting around for sale.
Cheers
