Weather permitting, the "other" lot may be keen to ride out one more time?
Rendezvous at the Petone wharf again from 6:30pm ready to ride by 7:00pm?
Suggestions -- top of the Takas; Makara loop; Paekak hill summit and esplanade sunset excursion...
Meet up with the riverbank carpark contingent prior to fine dining and suitably reflective discourse?

Finish 18:30, if I can make Wgtn CBD to Petone Wharf in 30 mins, through hordes of dimwited cagers milling around in "rush" hour traffic, then I shall be there. If you could post a route, a confirmed one, before then, I can meet up at whichever point I can make.
Shouldn't be problem though. Takas sound good, hmm Martinborough too far? Caffeine-downers at sunset?

Want me to meet you in Welly CBD around 18:30, and we ride out together?
*EDIT* May be a little earlier, but, may also be not at all. I don't know what time I finish, until about 30mins before hand :brick: You just head out on SH1, through the terrace tunnel, go straight past the servo on the left, and take the turnoff that says petone. Stay in right lane, through roundabout towards the sea and the wharf is just on your right.

Ok here's a quick thread hijack (but it's related!) .....
After meeting up at the carpark a few of us thought it would be cool to pop around to the beach and have a bonfire. So we'll make it 9.30, at the very end of that main road that goes along the coast past Seaview and Eastbourne etc. Nice bit of beach there and it's away from 'civilisation'. I know it's a bit late on a weeknight for you early morning working sorts, but feel free to pop around just for a little while if you want :niceone: If the weather's crap it's cancelled.

At this stage it looks as though the weather forecaster may have been wrong in terms of rain. But it is certainly very windy.
Weather review again later, say 4:30pm?

Tremendously useful information, you ungulate westie.
For those of us in Wellington interested in social motorcycle riding this evening, it looks like it will be fine but bloody windy. We can discuss the finer details of intinerary at the designated pre-departure rendezvous point (The Petone Wharf, from 6:30pm, ready to ride at 7:00pm). Who knows, the wind may have dropped by then! Listen up you bunch of soft-cocks
It is supposedly clearing from North to South, so, the further north we go - the better it gets. And, I rode to work in the rain, so that I'd have my bike for the ride :spudbooge
Obviously if it's raining then I may go on a ride "straight home". If it's just windy, then you get to put your knee down on the straights. See you at the wharf, nearer 7pm I guess (still at work)

Thanks to all the chasps who rocked up for last nights TOTNR. Despite the wind I still had fun. We'll have to do something about food in the Hutt though. Surprising that in one of New Zealand's larger cities the only food available after 9:00pm comes from Maccas and supermarkets. Tragic.

We did much the same circuit as the Trash ride, but with more style. Up SH2 to Te Marua, turned right up the Maymorn road, down Whitemans Valley to Silverstream and then back to the LH carpark.
A highlight of the evening was the smalltalk provided by ZXR250_NZ's highly articulate bike.
"You bastard! You never ride me anymore."
"It's always about you."
"I'm a bike with needs too, you know."
"If you think you're going to stick that thing in me, you'd better think again, buster!"
"I let you ride me around all over town and all I get is this chocolate dildo?"

fellas, it was nice to ride with you last night... those damn mad trashed bastards taking off before I got to Maungaraki! And what a stroke of luck it was, cos my front brakes have developed issues and I'm pretty glad I didn't get to "test" them out as thoroughly as I would have on the "other" ride.
and for the record - that "no, not covert at all... honest" speed trap was gone before i went back on the way home... :angry2:

ahem! You must've been drinking Tui that night eh? :yeah:
You're right about the food though! Someone had mentioned something earlier about the place being a 'steakhouse' or some other saliva-producing word, but no - there was no steak, there was no chips, there wasn't even any nasty over priced little packets of salted peanuts!!! (well there might've been but I wouldn't have wanted them anyway) There must be some alternative to the BP pies on Thurs nights (hey SC - the pies are just down the road and they're actually really good!)
