For sale: the perfect big sports touring motorcycle. It's also a great weekend fun bike, when required.
This splendid example has travelled 83,000km and has had one careful owner since new. It has been regularly serviced by TSS Motorcycles' Yamaha-qualified workshop, which can validate this particular bike's qualities and service history. Don't be deterred by the mileage -- this puppy is only just run in and will provide its new owner with years of splendid motorcycling. I'm the one who has taken the big depreciation hit!
It has Two Brothers Racing Vale Carbon mufflers (these sound magnificent), a DNA air filter and an Ohlins rear suspension. It has heated hand grips and front and rear electrical accessories points. I've fitted a Givi screen (which is electrically adjustable). A set of custom-fitted sheepskins come with this package. It is currently running Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart tyres front and rear, with an estimated 6,000km to 7,000km wear left. This bike handles better than a brand-new FJR1300. I joke not.
I also have the original Yamaha screen.
A Givi Monokey topbox is available for separate sale. I have the original Yamaha rear grab-rail if the Givi topbox mount isn't required.
This isn't on Trademe yet. I thought I'd offer this to the cognoscenti on Kiwi Biker first.
Please PM me if you are interested in a test ride.

Noooooo!
What next though? Will Mrs Hitcher "change" at the same time?

One has been seriously smitten by a Shiver. Seriously.
And Mrs H is her own woman...

Mutter, grumble.
I hope I haven't jinxed it by linking it with Brunelleschi.

No. Richard is pricing up some parts for me. I'm still slightly hesitant about that 15 litre tank business. And I need some discerning person to procure the world's best FJR!

Jeez H, that's a bit of a change ain't it?
Nice bit of kit though.

Oh my!
Well I never, et cetera.
A Shiver, eh? Now you really will have to come along to some trackdays.

You don't have to suffer a Shiver. Ice Breaker (among others) do some good kit for stopping it .

15 Litre tank means more frequent stops to fill one liquid receptacle - and empty the other (Not suffering prostate problems are you?)

Should still give you a decent > 200km tank range though, no? One presumes that the Shiver doesn't have horrible fuel efficiency.

I'd expect a reasonable kilometreage. Not particularly heavy, not stupidly endowed with power and not an XL displacement either.
A partially diplomatic throttle hand should yield 240km.
Edit: But who cares, really? They're a funky machine that look fun to ride so screw the efficiency, I say!

I'd have thought a Goldwing or even a Concours was your next logical pick for a ride especialy after an ST1300 then an FJR1300

One Lady Owner?
One might think so!
Shiver your timbers Mr H, and it's not even 19/9. You must have taken a knock to the head or something?
Be difficult to do away with the electric screen and all that baggage capacity and the big tank.
Don't do do it man, you have access to a nice little beastie for when you feel the need for a fang. If you are going to trade, it should be up.......to a Pan European.....oh that's right, you've already been there. Maybe at 50+ you should be looking at the clutchless FJR then?

Well done - some say a picture speaks a thousand words. Mrs H may have a few if this carry-on happens each time your park it.

There's a post elsewhere on this - Hitcher had to set up a new account, and the TardMe admins pulled his ad.

My plan is to get it back up again tonight, as time and TM moderators allow.

OK, it's on the market this time. The classified advertisement on Trade Me generated nearly 500 hits in a fortnight, and a couple of luke warm tyre-kickers.
Selling this time by auction. This is a great buy.
Anybody who is seriously interested, please contact me if you'd like a test ride.

Yes, but I feel somewhat of a cad, selling a bike I loved. Mixed emotions, is probably the best way of describing the weekend's events.

I haven't had that problem - I've either kept bikes until they were getting pretty ratty and I'd had enough of them, or I've killed them. Thankfully, I've killed only 2: my very first one, and my last VFR.
