....would have to be a tie between,

not having a bike and your kid being sick.

Maybe just your kid being sick :(

You give them their antibiotics and lotsa cuddles...but it never seems enough. My eyes are weeping cos I feel useless. :weep:

She's loving the cuddles tho.....

....the sick one is calling....I have to sit next to her while she watches Barney.....

......I hate f**ken Barney..........:brick:

I just knew it would be "having a sick kid", especially when they're babies and you/they dunno what's wrong.
Exception to that is our middle one - he has a form of autism, and whenever he was coming down with summat, he'd get REALLY ratty and unmanageable. Then when he actually was sick - AHHH! Blisss!! He'd be like a little lamb. :2thumbsup

So how come "Barney" doesn't rate up there in the worstest things? :spudwhat:

Anyhoo - hope your kiddie gets better quickly. :yeah:

I did a google search and it didnt turn up either of those options. My version of Google is for people without kids mindyou.
Seems to be a flu thing going around at the moment. Hope the child gets well soon.:)

Life is full of these moments.

When we are teenagers we think its a major drama when someone in our group suffers some minor tradgedy and no one really understands (or so we think)

Later when we have our own kids and suffer with them all the lumps bumps pain and heartaches of childhood we start to get an inkling into some of the true meaning and indeed value of life and it tempers the steel in us all....

You will need this tempering later still when these little lovies you poured all love and hard work into stand screaming at you in the hallway full of teenage angst and rage because you dared to 'interfere' in their lives or set some sensible limits to save them from harm. And weather all the "it was just SO embarassing and how dare you talk to me like that you are the worst parent in the world and it's not like I asked to be born" shit goes on...

It's all a part of the process because after that, once they get a few of the rough edges knocked off, they will eventually come back to you and you will see the interest you have accrued on the cuddle investment you are making now.

Yeah! You hate Barney, now... But 25 years from now your child will say 'Hey Mum, remember when I was sick and how you used to love watching Barney with me..." And you will smile and say 'Yes I do... ' And mean it...

Its a true miracle

For all that and to my mind... The worst thing in the world is to watch someone you loved laying still and beyond the pain of this mortal world and wondering if they died knowing that you had loved them and that there was peace between you. Did you do all you could have and say all you should have because you truely cannot undo that...

I know it's hard when your kids are sick, been there done that BUT this is what will build the bonds of love..... It's worth it..

The worst thing about kids being sick is how well they take it,they lie there all floppy, liquid coming out of various orifices, croaking, barking coughs, eyes closed all puffed up - no complaints, happy to be carted around etc...you're wringing your hands and can't eat with the worry, and they take it like a soldier in WWI.You nearly DIED! you tell them years later, but they don't remember...bastards.
