Just relise that I have had "Roxanne" for a whole year now. She was "Born" in 1990 and started her "life" as a NZ new inport in Greymouth on the 26/6/1990. 11 years latter she had done around 16000miles and was sold to her next owner (11/5/2001). Stayed in Christchurch until 14/12/2001 and then moved up to AK. I bought her on the 16/2/2004 with a little over 30000miles on her clock. 1 year later she has over 45890miles on the her clock, so in 1 year we have enjoyed over 15000miles with each other and done in 1 YEAR 1/2 of would she has covered in 14!!!!!. Looking forward to taking her South in March to visit her old stomping gounds.
Happy Anniversary "Roxanne". May we enjoy many more miles together:ride:

It's always nice to be reminded of that special bond that exists between a man and his bike...

"Roxanne" and I have been going together for two year now. 65487miles (105391Km approx) on her clock now. So I've done 19597miles (31538Km approx) on her since last year. She has done me well. I could not have choosen a better bike for me with the money I had. I've ridden her hard and she's come back for more. I've stripped her and she still goes. Given her a new seat so I can rider her harder (no more whip arse). Project "Darkside" is getting there (wish I had the money and the time to do it right but).
Yep she's still the "girl" for me, and she is even happy to share me (she just loves "threesomes" lol).
May we get many more miles of fun together,
RIB

Three Awesome years "Roxanne" and I have been going "Steady" now:Punk: 79,843Miles (128,494km) on her clock now and start ta show her "age" a bit. Only 14,356miles (23,104km) done since last year (could not afford the Grand Challenge this year). Still doing me well though.
She has been very good of late as she has shared me with Trish, who has enjoyed over 5,000miles (8,000km) on "Roxanne" as my pillion since September last year:love:
Yer I am thinking about a newer bike, but at this stage I can not afford to replace "her". So far she has been better for my kind of riding than most of the other bikes I have tried. The Bandit's, Busa's and Blackbird's have just not done it for me. So far only a ST1300 has felt better to me, but unless I win Bonus Bond (I don't do Lotto) or I inherit money from a rich Uncle, it will be a long time before I could afford one of those.
So it look's like we will be having another year together. May it be as good as as the years before:love:  .

No I haven't suffered too much, Infact I'm loving it. Off down to the Paeroa races today via the Coro Loop. Really looking forward to that.
Since first trip to Tauranga I've been all over even, finally, getting right upto the cape. Can't believe it is 5000miles (8000kms) I've done. Looking forward to a whole heap more with Doug

Crikey!

I wondered why RiB had been so quiet. He's got a girlfriend that isn't a horse!

Well done on thrashing that poor bike to dea... err lavishing care and attention on a magnificent machine over so many kilometers!

Do you have any idea who the first owner was? I had a mate that bought a new one about that time.

Well It didn't belong to whom I thought it did.
But I can tell you it was owned by the Court Bailif and he was a fussy bugga, replaced it with a Goldwing from memory and now has just bought a new BMW big arse touring jobbie.

Thanks for the info, its awesome finding out where bikes end up.

Well a year later and only 9,239 miles (about 14,785km) "Roxanne" and I am still riding together. 89,082miles (Approx 142,535Km) on her clock now. Would have been 1,000miles less had I not gone from home ta Featherston and back ta Tauranga yesterday ta pick-up a top-box:rolleyes: Nice ta know we still have it in us.
Still want a ST1300 but can't find a rich Uncle ta knock off:rolleyes: Looks like another year before I will be able ta get a ST, so hope she holds out for me.
Still "she" has worked hard for me, and still not a bad ride:Punk:

Crikey Doug you're an inspiration to me.

The RF now has 70,000 miles on the clock and I was feeling that's a lot but it looks as though Roxanne is gonna go on forever.

Well done for sticking with her.

That's only 5,833km a year. You should get out more!

Words may be your strong point Hitcher, but not maths. If you're talking about mine, in June I'll have had it three years.

It had 43500 on the clocks when I got it. So we're talking Just under 30,000 MILES in just under 30 MONTHS.

or more like 20,000 kms a year.

Have stuck with "Roxanne" for so many Miles because I just can't afford what I would like. At the end of the day "she" is a good ride for me and handles my "mood" changes well.
Bloody laugh today, riding out with all the Tau Riders with their new bikes, with "Roxanne" packed down with enough gear ta break a pack horse's back, riding ta Whangamata and then through ta Kopu ta get ta the Paeroa Steet Races:laugh:

And that, my good sir, is the exact same reason for my sticking to my bike.

I could get myself in debt easily enough, throw a new bike on the mortgage, but to be honest a newer bike would be at best 10% better than what I have at the moment.

The RF still ticks all the boxes so why should I get rid of it?

Well a sad day has finally come for "Roxanne" I going ta have to retire her. The Alternator/Starter chain is now slipping and she has a whine down there too (which could be a bearing on the way out). Sad day indeed. Will park her up and put her on TradeMe as parts:bye::bye:

Every cloud has a silver lining! The cool thing is you get to test ride lots of other beasties in an effort to decide on her replacement.
Any ideas?

Have shedded her at 90,700miles (145,000+km). Of those we have ridden over 60,000miles (100,000km) together in a little over 1month and 4years.

Any ideas?Tried a new Honda VFR800 today just for the hell of it. Hell I had had a VFR750 before hand and it was sweet (Warr has it now). Good body position on the VFR750. So what the hell have they gone and done with the new ones? They put the bars down ta race bike position. Dum dum dum. Was one of the best all rounders but is no more. So far it looks like a ST1100 for me as I can't afford a ST1300 for another year yet.
