Can anyone tell me the difference between a Bandit and a Bandit V?

I've been looking at a 1991 Bandit but someone told me that I should steer clear of the bandit in favour of the Bandit V's because they are a much better bike?

Is this true or just bollocks?

Cheers!

It appears the only difference between the two is optional variable exhaust valve timing to help boost the midrange on the V model. Everything else seems to be the same.

Google is a wonderful thing....

Yeah I had googled but not found too much info and thought i'd ask on here since there are a few people with them :)

Thanks.

You're obviously talking of the 250. The V model was called the Red Head due to it's cam-covers being painted red to set the difference between the bikes. You'd be happy with either, but the V has more street-cred. More of a gimmick than any real advantage as far as I know, but owners may have something to say.

No worries. Just thought I should point out the google thing so there wouldn't be any misconceptions about me being a knowledgable bastard. Getting advice from someone with personal knowledge of a particular model is definatley the best advice so you've asked the right folk.

I have a 1991 bandit runs well had no problems other then once you get a bit past peg scrapping the rear pipe hits the ground and shocks bottom easy. also having one big disk the pads don't stand up to a lot of punnishment. Other wise a good bike.
