Bessie intended to give him a knighthood (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/31/pratchett_knighted/), but there was that unfortunate leakage from the Unseen University. They hope to have him back to abnormal soon.

And very well deserved too (the knighthood not the unfortunate amphibian experience)

(You will either understand this or not. If you don't , don't bother trying, you are incapable of understanding true culture)

Tastes differ huh?
I always thought his writing was a waste of good foliage, obviously I'm not an expert then!

Flabbergasted is a word I'd use too.

For services to the demented is more like it but not as charitable.

OT - Do you know what the next health crisis NZ faces could well be?

Long term 'P' users are ending up in the dementia wards.
Soon there will not be enough space for the brain fried in the health system.

Well, I understand that at present he's sort of, actually, a newt. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newt)

But Hex is working on the problem and they confident of being able to restore him to abnormality as soon as more ants are sourced.

That would, indeed, be an embuggerance.

He has been one of my favourites for a long time. His lastest few have been dropping off a bit as far as quality goes, but his early stuff? Brilliant!
