We're goin up for 5 days and have been told there is heaps of camping space available for anyone interested in going riding for 5 days within 1000 acres of farm land!! It's dirt cheap (pay for only the campsite) and it should be an awesome weekend!!!
Anyone keen?

Takitimu would be the best person to advise and Leehoon said he was going up in December for a second opinion.

hey well if you're keen you can throw the bike on the trailer (theres room for another one or 2 at a squeeze because my bike died) but we won't have enough room in the RVR for 5 (4 seater) so you'd have to jump on cheeses wagon lol. We're going as long as mum house sits for us.

We had heaps of fun at The Farm on this ramp! The MX track was poor to average. We only scratched the surface of what the trail section has to offer, im hoping to go back up in Feb with Westie and find the 100s of acres of trails that we missed out on.

I've been there 3 times I think now, wicked cross country last year, training with Birchy & a week.
There's obviously enough a fair bit of farm land which is mostly rolling, some decent hills, the one opposite the house has some steep enough parts.
The bush parts vary, quite a bit of bulldozed track, some very tricky gully stuff ( Birch failed one crossing on 4 different bikes, needless to say no one else made it either ).
As it's Northland, mostly clay tracks.
The MX track is ok, needed a clean up last time I was there, tracks up here are helluva hard to maintain through winter if they get ridden & Mike's one got thrashed last winter.
The single toughest part is that the signage is not the best, but there is a heap of good riding & if you want some good single track stuff, there are tracks on the house side of the road for experienced riders.
Oh Mike can ride, rides Expert class in the National Enduro's :), chop would be happy I believe he's going WR250 Husky this year.

Well my XR200 gearbox broke (be putting it on TM next week for parts and lookin for something else...maybe a lite 2smoker) so will probably ride one of their hire bikes.
This is what they have on offer.
Our fleet is constantly changing (and breaking down!) but currently we have: Yamaha peewee50, Honda xr70, CMG 110 pit bike, CMG 150, suzuki TS 125, Suzuki TF 125, Honda XR 200, Yamaha XT250, 2x Honda CRM250's, '06 Yamaha WR250F (coming sept- Mike's new 07 KTM 250EXCF!!)

Well I kinda think I'd get more for it parted out than if I spent say $300 to make it a goer. I can't be bothered parting it up so prob sell it as a complete rolling chassis with heaps of extras, like...2 rear shocks in good nick, extra 'set of '98 front forks with triple clamp- in good nick, spare '98 frame, spare 17" wheel with new bearings and 50% tyre, 3 extra rear sprockets, spare reupholstered seat, extra coil etc etc Motor has had a new piston, rings and clutch kit from previous owner. Goes sweet except for the gearbox. Apparently it's the fork selector needs replacing. Not worth the effort splitting the box....well actually after riding Frosty's KX125 it kinda hooked me into getting a lighter and quicker 2 stroke bike. Seeing as he doesn't want to let his one go and now my wife (in a moment of weakness) saying go look for something around the $1500 mark...well I can't resist!!!

Actually I felt quite confident on the KX125, I could pretty much ring it out on the short track and it seemed to hook the corners really well. Mind you the KDX220 wasn't half bad either although it tended to creep off the corners a bit. So yeah based on that ride I'd be quite happy on a snappy 125

But don't know enough about the modern 2stroke or the pedigree of the modern suzy to really know for sure if it is a goodie model.

Stuff that! once is enough, man that was a work out and a half! I must have worked up more sweat soaking me than the rain did. I've been spoilt riding the KX125 and now want it all! Besides I don't think my son appreciates Dad swiping his bike.

Frosty is to busy at moment to get out for a ride. We are heading out tomorrow with kids for a quick one. The boss has something planned for Thursday so cannot go then as well. Will catch up when you get back from the farm, maybe I will have all our bikes going then (Sisters one is now in pieces fixing the leaking coolant) then I could have a look at your XR....

Hey you could look at it as a winter project! I've been wondering what to do about it, whether to fix it or part it out. I guess it could do as a back up bike or even when the kids get a bit bigger.

Easier to sell when it is actually going...... But good back-up as well. Will soon be a vintage, then worth double price. Have fun at the farm, expect a full report when you get back.
